lol Boney....i previously thought of a x1900xt..but thats more then 100$ exp...n then there is not camparitive diff between them...of course the x1900xt beats the x1800xt in evry benchies but the 100+$ does not quite justify....
FYI i m way over my budget but i estimated that i may gather the full amount when i buy one of these....
ok ppl just do one thing..go to this link n say what would u chose if u were me...

eVGA 7900GT. Hands down.
Any of them will be fine. I still prefer ATi's drivers. I don't deal with their CCC, I just use ATi Tray Tools to access my card adjustments.
The shimmering problem that still occurs with NV's drivers is the big thing that keeps me from recommending them when PCI-e is the bus to be used. Obviously they have the edge if you must have AGP.
Unless you're running dual monitors and don't like massive amounts of screen flicker on your secondary monitor...then you stick with NVidia...PCI-E or not. ;)Quote:

You'd think they'd get a driver right that would fix it. ATI, like Intel gets my business once every couple years...only to remind me ONCE AGAIN why I don't like to use either. ;)
Fooksake people, this is a hardware forum.
A card pricing itself out of a budget is one thing, but complaining about a stock cooler being too loud is just silly. Throw the damn thing in the trash and buy a silencer or a Zalman. That's what we do!
I wonder if the Fall refreshes of video cards will finally bring a 1GB Video Card. Good grief, we haven't even settled in on 512 MB and here I am with only 128...
Who's "we"? You got a mouse in your pocket? :p Actually what's silly is that if I'm gonna spend a buttload of coin on a vid card, the last thing I should need to do is spend another forty bucks on a friggin cooler!! :mad:Quote:

I have my CRT on the D-Sub output and have connected my 19" LCD to the DVI output, running in dual mode and never had a flickering problem, even though I am running two completely different resolutions and refresh rates.Quote:

I keep hearing people complain about the noise on the x1800/x1900 dual slot stock coolers, but I do not agree. In 2D mode its about silent, and when gaming, my x1800 fan kicks up a notch once in a while when temps go up,but it still doesnt get loud. The only time its loud is at bootup, when it spins at 100% for a few seconds, but never gets that loud when gaming.
