I'll probably just grab a waterblock for my 470 and OC it to around 570 levels when I do my WC set up at the end of the year. I'm really not needing a new card anyway. I'm considering buying 2 more monitors and doing 3x screens, so I may jump over to an AMD card at some point. The 3 screens are mostly for work.
Guess I'll chug along with just one HD6950 @6970 for now....
A little bit of news.

Lets just say I'm happy with my 2gig 560ti and leave it at that...

Nice job AMD.
I wouldn't mind picking up a 580TI 448 core, they supposedly overclock like crazy. Everywhere is gouging them though, plus I kind of want 3 displays so AMD is looking to be my only option unless I want to SLI.
I was close to a pair of 560 448s. Those are good looking cards. Definitely a better bang for the buck than the 580s. I just wanted maximum upgrade differential from my 460 SLI setup. My new 580s are in but I'm in NY and have to wait till Wednesday to check them out. And swtor early game time is about to start!
if you believe this link cards will be around the 9th of January...

Man, I am so far behind the times. I haven't followed this stuff in some time. I didn't even know ATi had new cards coming out, let alone rumors that new cards were coming.
Now, the rumor is that it'd be available on the 22nd, but in limited quantity....according to a vr-zone article.
Eh, I don't even care anymore. I decided to work on a watercooling setup instead of upgrading video. I'm fine gaming at 1920x1080 with what I currently have.
The other rumor I heard is that Nvidia is going to jump straight to GTX7xx and then later release all the crappy budget cards with GTX6xx to confuse the Joe Sixpack's into buying crappy cards thinking they are getting a better card than the 560 - 70 - 80.
I also heard that the GTX780 is going to be around quadruple the speed of the GTX580... if that's true its going to be a monster.
Guess what CPU AMD used to benchmark it's new 7970? An Intel SB-E 3960X! It used the AMD Bulldozer 8150FX for some Eyefinity benchmarks but the "Primary" benchmark machine used the new Intel SandyBridge E 3960X. Maybe CEO Rory should use the GPU developers to run the CPU development.
