those screenshots make it look like the graphics actually regressed :o
I feel for you guys that want to play over the weekend. The game launches today in EU and the rest of the world. EA has already come out and shut down some gameplay features with their latest hotfix for the servers. They turned off leaderboards, achievements, and search filtering. They really bungled this launch. I'd hate to be at Maxis. SimCity probably is a really good game, but they had to fit it into EA's mold. Giantbomb's review said there is a fantastic game under all the limitations, but you can't get to it.
Edit: Wow it seems they turned off "cheetah" speed as well.
And this is what happens when you don't stress test. Idiots!
Aside from some issues finding my friends online, the servers were fine for me the first day. Yesterday, I couldn't log on to any server the several times I tried to do so. Will I be able to log on after work today? Will disabling Cheetah speed allow me to actually see my city and region again?
And does the fact that they needed to disable Cheetah Speed mean that all the game's calculations are happening server-side?
Burnout and Need for Speed should not be in that corpse pile! Also SimCity really is quite fun when it's actually working. D:
I guess when I see you guys online in Origin, it's not actually playing the game :(
Amazon has suspended sales of the digital download version until EA gets their **** together.
The last need for speed my friend bought (hes a huge fan) sucked according to him. And what they did to both Dragon Age and Dead Space is pretty lame.
They have a form of reverse Midas touch.
I was a huge fan before Underground and thought the series became absolutely terrible from then until the new Hot Pursuit. Every release I would still get all excited and try it out then just become disappointed. They have managed to turn that series around and make it fun again.
