Yes you can set the raid controller to function as "normal" ide with jumpers. It will act as a second controller. Hope this helps.

talldude, I'd suggest waiting for the 8KHA2. I mailed EPoX asking for a release date and they said "End of December"! Hopefully this revision will be a lot more reliable, plus have better OCing/RAID/ATA133 https://www.sharkyforums.com/images/.../2005/06/5.gif

thanks for the heads up. I might go ahead and buy all the other stuff like monitor etc and get the board after the year is over. I'm going on holidays over new-years so i doubt that i'll be able to get my hands on one of those boards before leaving. I think i won't use raid, there's really no point for me. I don't really care if games load up in .1seconds or .08 seconds. Single maxtor DMP D740X 60Gb hdd will suffice. the ata 133 interface is really good though. Hope they get the quality under control better and Ocing will become less frustrating https://www.sharkyforums.com/images/.../2005/06/5.gifQuote:

Oh yeah, do you know if they will alter the socket spacing? I'm interested in not having to bend a mobo component to fit the alpha pal 8045 on there. The kha+ has some voltage regulator or something in the way that has to be slightly bent to get the monster hsf on.

Bah you just had to show it didnt you! Oh check on Icrontic Forums, some guy got his KR7A @ 200MHz FSB also so this board also has some potential https://www.sharkyforums.com/images/.../2005/08/2.gifQuote:

Some dude from MadOnion used a 3/4 RAM divider or something and hit 221 MHz. https://www.sharkyforums.com/images/.../2005/06/4.gif
Here's a guy from AthlonMB...he hit 205!

Here's a link to a BETA version of this BIOS, please be warned that it's BETA! However, it has been known to solve soft reboot problems.

Most of this I got from the thread at AthlonMB :

Damn that's some excellent work from EPoX. Only thing that could make it better would be more VOLTAGE, however that would probably require a differnt voltage regulator. https://www.sharkyforums.com/images/.../2005/06/5.gif

I've heard pretty good FSB OC attempts on the KR7A, and a little more consistant than the EPoX ones. (probably because the EPoX three phase boards are a LOT more picky about what PSU you use.)
BTW, nice choice on avatar!

There's the original, i guess the differences are pretty clear. I think there is some extra space on the kha2 and also, they've made the socket alignment different, it's vertical now...compare for yourself. I think the smartest thing on the kha2 is the placing of the atx connector. Out of the way! finally! I hate it how the connector usually comes right over the top of the hfs. Thanks for the pic MOM.

8KHA2 looks worth the wait. I'm glad I didn't get overzealous when the KR7A was launched.

My main hope is that there is a different voltage regulator which allows higher Vcore settings than 1.85V.Quote:

There always seems to be something better around the corner. 8KHA+ was a little bit of a disappoinmnet, but I'm sure the 8KHA2 will fix all of that. If it doesn't, there is always Shuttles new KT266A board. https://www.sharkyforums.com/images/.../2005/06/6.gif

Indeed 2.3v if I remember correctly. Heck I'd be glad with 2.0vQuote:

that's my main concern also. I don't want to mod the board to max get decent voltage. Well, good news, going to thailand over christmas and new years so i can buy it there probably. They always get stuff fast. That's my final decision right there though. Looks like a great board.
