My GF4 MX4400 card works at AGP4X right out of the box without headache or any tweak, and is proven by WCPUID utility.

Is it because I am using Windows 2000 ? My mainboard uses the old VIA 694/686B chipset, not the latest, though.

I don't think it has anything to do with the card, more likely the mainboard (and more specific to the type of mainboard.) Mine worked at AGP 4X right out of the box too.

viper726, AGP 4X has been proven to limit FSB overclocking before on other systems, usually this is fixed by upping the AGP voltage, if you have that option. Maybe you should try benching with both AGP4X and AGP2X, and seeing if there's any performance difference between the two, I know in my case there was about 50 or so 3D Marks.

before i got 9229 3dmarks in 2x mode (but i was runnin the 28.32 dets) now i get a lil over 9400 (usin the 27dets) in 4x mode.

A-power is ok, they're not bad. Don't worry about it. I don't get how you'll waste your money at a-power, I think the previous guy meant that he had a bad experience with them is all :).
