Will a 9600 XT blow away a ti4200 ?

Hey guys...

Get the ATI9800SE...

then "hack it" using OMEGA hacked cataclyst driver which will fool the system.. it is a 9800PRO card!!!!

with a hacked driver

it will work like ATI9800pro very near

and thats for less than 200$ priced card

blah, most wont mod without artifacting, screw that get a real 9800, flash it to a pro if you think it helps and oc it like mad! If you are cheap, a ti4200 will work wonders for $70

T'bird, what's your fascination with the Ti4200? Just about every post I see you in, you're pushing the Ti4200. :p Mind you, I think the Ti4200 is one helluva card for its price/performance, I've even gotten a Gainward Ti4200 128mb 8xAGP card for my nephew's rig and its running all the games quite easily. I'm not flaming or looking to be flamed, I'm just curious, is all.:)

I think Nvidia will be the next "3dfx"

Just to clear things up for me, I believe a Ti class card's DX8, but what about the 8500? DX8 or DX7?:confused:

ti4200s give you so much for so little. sure they are dx8 only but I dont have any dx9 games yet and when I do, ill just run em in dx8 mode. ti4200s cost less than half of what 9600 pros do yet they eat em in 3dmark2001 and without aa/af and in dx8 mode :)

Radeon 8500-9200 is DX8. Radeon 9500 and up is DX9.

Thanks for the explanation T'bird, I agree the Ti4200 is a great card for DX8 games, I even got one for my nephew's rig. ;) :)

The Ti4200 will be faster by about 5-10% between those two cards. :)

So they are discontinuing the 9600 and 9600 Pro in Canada, but not in the US as of now.
