And vairox, stop giving hints that you are using an illegal copy.
This forum is not for something like that.
u add to that what u want whiner, nowhere did i say i downloaded max payne 2, for all you know i could have copied it to my drive earlier and mounted it for a faster install...
Colossus, stop posting erotic pictures. It's against the AUP. j/k:DQuote:

It's just that I have never heard of anyone who would copy the CD onto the harddrive first and then install...
Would that be faster than just install?
Since both process needs the CD...
Logic dictates my theory that you are indeed using a downloaded copy.
But I could be wrong. (just trying to be nice)
But then I went furthur back into the thread...
Does that mean you are walking to a store right now?Quote:

Actually installing it right from CD would be faster...
Since you need to get the files from the CD to make the image and then mount the image and then install to HD... No, that is not faster :D
So how many hours of gameplay do you estimate Colossus? Was it longer than Max Payne 1? If so, by how much?
I dont think it was longer... Max Payne I had some hard spots, like his weird dream....
I think I put about 10 hours into this game... But when you get to the end it unlocks other parts... Maybe its just to difficultly level.. dunno...
Gamespot has a review.
THey said it's shorter :(
terry - no problem, to me i hate seeing the install process from the cd, it takes sooo long it seems...when u make an image then mount it, it installs from the drive and takes like a minute to install the whole thing...maybe im just weird. plus i burned a backup, so i killed two birds with one stone.
WHAT?! j/k;)Quote:

Logically, it should be longer because it's 2 cd's whereas Max Payne 1 was only 1 cd.:p :)
Man that ceiling picture is whack. I would shoot the light out. =] Hopefully it works =]
Well I'm just a little ways into the second chapter. Wow. All the slickness from the original game is there plus some improvements and additions. First off, the physics engine is incredible, I love spraying bullets and watching objects shatter or go flying as a result, or watching a guy get hit with a shotgun blast go flying into a bunch of boxes or chairs, sending them hurling. The bullet time hasn't been changed all that much but it's still slick as can be. The gfx are nice, the faces in particular look excellent.
The dialogue and story book are still really interesting and cool. It's a work of art :)
its a great game, but i sometimes hate the comic book thing, from level to level, its long and drawn out but it is pretty unique.
Man, this game runs like glass at full everything on my system...Not even a hint of slowdown.
It's pretty fun - but Im finding it a bit difficult to get used to the view and the controls again. I really really wish more game developers allowed for multi-button mice, such as my MX500. The extra buttons aren't useable at all, and I really wish I could assign them to something without going through the hasstle of keymapping the buttons..
The graphics are decent - I was expecting more for some reason...I guess we're spoiled by HL2 and Doom3 ;)

Finally got the game yesturday this is gonna be a ruff weekend... :D
Anyway only played to the second level quick question how long is this after max payne cause grovaro that detective guy looks mad old and skinny ???
On the game note this game looks amazing..
Apparently Max Payne 2 is 10 years after MP1 so....
Thats why Max looks like he's close to 50 or something.
wow I've been playing for the past 2 hours and this game rocks...the physics engine is sweet...especally in the warehouse level with all the boxes and stuff...you can shoot the boxes right into their face :)
I really wished I participated earlier in this thread, but I was too busy killing.
Anyways, there's so many cool guns in this game; the m4 carbine is my favorite. This thing is deadly and sounds scary enough to make a grown man wet his pants.
I'll try and take some screens and contribute.
I am constantly rebuilding computers in my house. It is MUCH easier and quicker to install from the hard drive and not have to worry about finding the CDs and cases and...where is that frickin regkey/cdkey?!? I put all of my CDs on my hard drive and let Daemon Tools emulate whatever I need it to. Put a text file as well in there with the CD Key etc...Good stuff!Quote:

That is super unlikely. Most CD's come with protection against that kind of thing. So they would require a crack. Do you do that too ?
I don't buy your story. That's just me. Im sure many people here don't buy it either.
I dont buy it either :D
If you rebuild, your drive is clean :D unless you use a 2nd drive or partition while holds all the images... But you wont gain anything..
I have a two cases each holding 250 CD's and about 10 CDR spindles (50 disc) that contains backup images and data archives...
I also have a small 25 disc holder which holds my main CD's that I use on a daily basis for rebuilding.. So its not hard at all to find :)
guess u guys havent heard of clonecd, blindwrite or alcohol...man...you people must discover these tools. it breaks the protection for u. its legal to make yourself a backup copy of purchased software in case u ruin the first one, but u cant copy it if it has anti-copy protections implemented, i say screw that but thats me...if i buy something im backing it up and if they want to arrest me for protecting my investment then so be it, this is america and they will arrest u for protecting your own stuff so watch out...
taken from a DMCA site
Quote:
The problem with the DMCA is that it does not merely prohibit copying
digital works just as non-digital works are protected. It also
prohibits circumventing copy protection (technology used to make
copying difficult) even if the purpose of circumventing is to make a
perfectly legal copy. For example, it's perfectly legal (under normal
copyright law) to make a backup copy of a software CD in case you lose
or break the first one. And it's also legal for the software
publisher to try to make copying difficult to reduce illegal copying.
But under DMCA, it's illegal for me to circumvent copy protection even
to make a perfectly legal backup copy.
The real problem is that it also prohibtis "trafficking in any
circumvention device" which has been interepreted by some law
enforcement authorities (and by RIAA, MPAA, and Adobe) to include
writing, using, or distributing software to decrypt or use
copy-protected material in a non-standard manner.
For example, a computer science professor at Princeton, Ed Felten, was
prevented from giving a talk on encryption at an academic conference
because the talk exposed weaknesses in the algorithm of the Secure
Digital Music Initiative (SDMI). The irony is, Felten did the
research in response to a challenge from the SDMI folks to break their
system!
Another example: Dmitry Sklyarov is a Russian citizen who wrote a
program to allow blind people to read Adobe eBooks, which involved
cracking Adobe's encryption. He wrote the program in Russia, where
obviously US law doesn't apply. He gave a talk at a computer
conference in Las Vegas discussing how his software works, after which
he was immediately arrested by the FBI on federal criminal charges for
giving the talk. The irony of this is palpable.... his wife refused
to travel to the US to visit him in jail because she was afraid she
would be arrested as well. (Can Russia be a freer country than the
US?)
man I had a cool screenshot but for some reason it didn't capture the explosion and the lighting is all messed up...oh and d ick justice freaking owns...
it edits d ick for some reason :(
