I have just finished a 250 and got 1wu, also they gave me another 250, when do I get a 2500.
Wow haven't seen 250's yet. Every five WU's I seem to get a 2500
No kidding! :) My 2GHz Celery laptop has taken 2 full days to get to 57% (230/400) on a 638 series. Whereas my P3 800 has taken only 1 full day to get to 1250/2500.Quote:

Although, I'm sure cache has a bit to do with it.
I'll have a 2000+ XP and a 2.4C into the fray in a few days.
heh, I never thought I could have so much fun trying to use my computers as little as possible... :)
O` Well, I`m chugging along at 12x200 and well contribute what I can. Is there any settings I can optimize to get better performance.Quote:

I've been folding for XSF for a while now... Switched to SF. :)
Thanks xDuck we can use your horses and certainly need them more than XS
finally showed up. damn 2500
Well the team moved up about 500 places yesterday! If we could find 5 more members, then we would be rolling.
5 more members....or me actually completing this dang 2500wu....i'm on like day 4 of it now...i'm at 2250/2500....this is absolutely insane. It'll be done today and i'll be on the board.:D
edit: Do you let your systems fold 24/7 or just during the day/when it's in use?
mines 24/7
although Im now cheating and using both my lappy and my Desktop
The servers are on 24/7, but the workstations only fold if they are in use.
I have noticed that the progress seems to be the same on 250's which I finally got one make that two, 500's and 2500's. Its 1% of the total. That is 250's update every 2.5, 500's every 5 and 2500 in increments of 25. I was at 210score and 7WU's. Then I got my first 250 and when it was done I jumped up like 70 score points
I would have one finished but I had one of those 638's that took forever - then it gave a wierd error message and erased when I was like 90% done and downloaded another 638.
I funished my 2nd WU and got a 2500 and you are right it looks like it is going to take about the same amount of time to do it as a 250. I`m trying to figure out how much cpu usage I should give it when I`m gaming and have it running in the background. I`m playing NWN`s right now and if someone has any ideal let me know.Quote:

broke 3k, at some point were going to slow down on our climb up the ranks as the competitions gets stiffer,
Man... gotta suck - those things take forever. That would have given you about 60 points or so...Quote:

I'm hoping that doesn't happen on the 1004Series that I just picked up - Looks like it'll take my XP2000+ a good 40 hours of solid 100% crunching - about twice a 638 from what I can tell.

I think it's pretty dag gone good for a little team that's not even a week old yet :)

Each and every member of the team deserves the same amount of credit that I get, perhaps even more. The member that dedicates his single system to the effort is actually contributing a greater amount than I am. I happen to have a more or less idle domain structure that I put to work on it. (Just another example of the depressed IT industry)
Keep up the good work people, and let’s go out and get a few more folders for the team. Perhaps we should put a sticky up in some of the other forums. I for one don’t always check this one. Perhaps a sticky in the OC forum?
I still haven’t figured out this point system. Pretty soon Sap’s is going to pass me up on units folded, but he seems to be getting hosed on the credits the units return. I, on the other hand seem to be getting a value added score or something, or at least a string of high score units.
Anyone got any ideas? Any of you guys with big OC’s dropping unfinished units? And getting partial score for them? The is some mention to the dropping of corupted units over on the Folding@Home site. That’s all I can think of, other than the plain old luck/bad luck of the draw.
So how do I sign up for this insanity. I will give you a few horsepower if you want it :D
COOL :)
Just go here:
http://www.stanford.edu/group/pandeg.../download.html
And DL the client, I recoment the first one in the list.
When you set up the client with a user name and such, be sure to enter 34149 in the box below the user name. When your first unit completes, you will automatically be listed on the team page.
Ok I am up and running
My PSU is dying. I have a 5V Rail down below 4.5v so I stopped folding until I get an rma. I'll be back but it might take a week or so. GO team!
Sorry to hear that saps. :( I got like 70 points for a 400 sized work unit and only 61 or so for a 2500-sized. This is very odd how they score this...welcome to the team ranger!:p
