Hey kpxgq, were you the one that's been trying to sell his non-SP GBA for the longest time (Did you ever get an SP)?
BTW, how does a d-pad like that handle fighting games like Street Fighter Alpha 2 for the SNES or any of the fighting games for the SP?
So I looked into it, My E-115 runs morphgear fine, but when I try to load up Mario World with no sound, 8 frameskip, it runs like Far Cry on a TnT 2.
So I am going to overclock it. Problem being to O/C it you have to open it, and soder some stuff. Well, considering that guy said he got his to 196mhz (default being 100mhz) Im all for a 96% performance increase! I get about 18-22 fps now, hopefully it will be playable when I am done!

yeah i ended up selling it one ebay.. it was a regular gba not an SP... i still bought an SP though, cause im gonna need ot for ff crystal chroniclesQuote:

as for the dpad.... the dpad on the dell is decent but not great....... its small and cramps up my thumb after about an hour.... thats why i was thinking of getting an asus a620... it has the best dpad and it the fastest pda on the market... it even plays playstation emulator at good spped

Just one of the many reasons I will be getting a 620 also. I was always concerned about the buttons on the other PPC's like the 2210 and Axiums. The 620 has nice big buttons and an excellent D-pad.
It's also the fastest out there for Morphgear operation.
so that asus a620bt has a usb port on the bottom right? i didnt see it listed in the specs, but it looks like it on the pic:

so would you be able to use one of those usb key storage things to store games and stuff? also would you be able to get one of those portable cd player/dvd-roms and hook it up to make it a portable dvd player?

No pic's for the BT so I assume the ports are the same on both models and your only paying for more ROM's.

i totally dont understand why cell phones and pdas dont have either a usb or mini-usb port on them... i mean, with all the high tech crap that goes into them, would a usb port be so hard to ask?
actually it IS a USB port, but its just shaped weird... i know this cause i bought a dongle for my axim.. its just a cord, one end plugs to the bottom of my axim and the other end plugs into the usb port on my computer... theres no ciruitry in betweenQuote:

I can't honestly see this as a substitute for GBAsp.
My Axim X3i has by no means replaced my gameboy. They both have their place.

the thing is, just like amds and intels.... clock speed isnt everything.. an xscale pxa250 400mhz is no faster than a 200mhz strongarm.. howver a pxa255/261/263 is about twice as fast... and the samsung 206mhz cpu is faster than a 300mhz pxa255
the absolute FASTEST and best for gaming pda is the asus a620 which goes for about $300 at places like proportable.com or mwave
Edit: Didn't the asus pda come out a lot earlier than the axim's? That's pretty weird. I really want a PDA too, to be a dork with and takes notes in class with an external keyboard. Some gaming wouldn't hurt, and wifi would be sweet--there's access points all over campus. SD/CF MP3 playing is nice too. What do you think of your current PDA for that sort of thing?Quote:

it's a cell phone, but the specs seem to be decent also. I'll pickup an SD card and overclock the CPU alittle bit. I would REALLY love to setup an emulator on it :).
the reason i use my x3i over my gameboy now is cause of savestates... emulators allow you to save at any point.. which is very useful.. also, the 3.5" transflective screen on my x3i is WAYYYYY better than the frontlit reflective screen on my gba spQuote:

the strongarm 206mhz cpu is good enough for gameboy and nes games but you need at least a 400mhz xscale with pocketpc 2k3 to play SNES and GBAQuote:

thats exactly what i use mine for.. most of my classes, my professor puts the lecture notes in pdf format online... i can download these using wifi(whole campus is under wifi) while walking to class and view em on my x3i... another cool thing is that at home, i have a wireless network.. while im taking a crap in the bathroom.. i can use my x3i to connect to my main computer via wifi and watch divx movies and stuffQuote:

they work decent.. but again, not as good as the asus620 hardware buttons... you dont get the tactile feedback of hardware buttonsQuote:

I was actually quite impressed how well a Strongarm 206Mhz could play Snes games, hardly any problems at all. My main problem with playing games on PDAs are the buttons, never found a PDA that I thought was at all comfortable for playing console games on. It's sad, but it's normally Mahjong (or however you spell it!) that I play on my PDAs, still trying to find a decent UIQ version.

That would be a bummer as they needed to make the GB screen just a bit larger. Gonna go more blind then I already am playing that thing.
