If you look at D2, when allocating stat pts all you did was put enough stat pts into str and dex to wear your gear, then dump the rest in vit. Not much freedom there

I'm going purchase it and enjoy it. BF3 is getting lame.
Sometimes, games are all about just killing everything in sight... hope none of you guys are becoming pc gaming elitists... that you are just too good for some of the games 'cause they are simpler...
Saw this on Reddit this morning:

My release day shipping order hasn't yet shipped from Amazon, but it still shows the estimated arrival date as tomorrow. I guess we'll see what happens.Kind of a misleading graphic. 25 of those rows on the right look awfully similar to each other, so without having played the Beta myself it looks like each of those are really the same skill but with progressions in power. Seems cheap to count them all as individual.
30 total skills on the left, and if you count each of those similar rows on the right as one skill + progressions you can add the 15 or so dissimilar ones on the bottom rows and you only get about 40 for D3. D3 still comes out on top, but not really all that big of a difference IMO.
Due to me being in Korea, and Korea pretty much being a massively huge market for Blizzard I get to play D3 hours before the rest of the world :)
Awaiting the install to finish :)
Also Blizzards decision to launch this game at the right time int he right region is a good one IMHO. They aren't treating anyone different.
i can see your point, i think what annoys me is that there is no wrong choices to be made, they allocate the points for you, and you have free range motion to enable any new skills without any penalties
i basically think this applies to casual gamers(which i am at this point in life), and it doesn't float well with me, i want to make wrong choices and be totally screwed later on in the game, that is part of the fun, and what originally drew me to pc gaming in the late eighties
maybe have a hardcore mode where you have to choose your skills wisely
.....but with the auction house, i guess it makes sense to tie your uberness to items:)
Feels like a huge difference to me. The runes make a pretty big difference in how the spell actually works. A lot more so than throwing 5 stat points into STR might.
The other thing to keep in mind is that with D2, most of the early spells were useless beyond a certain level. Everything in D3 is supposed to have a place later on. And while there will no doubt be "optimal" builds, you'll still be able to create unique characters. I suspect there will be some really interesting combinations in small team PvP.
I got UPS shipped notification e-mail from Newegg just now!!! :D
My Amazon order just switched to shipped as well.
Nope, although I didn't get to play since I had the US region locked verison of the game my friend who bought the Korean edition did.Quote:
Installs are active right now, but I thought I read that US gets to play first.
Apparently in Asia, all of the people who digitally pre-ordered had/are having issues logging in. For some reason, they system didn't activate any of the accounts used to purchase the game digitally. I hope that doesn't happen here.

See, some Koreans have already beat the game we have true gaming fanatics here. A guy I played BF3 with was texting me all night long on how awesome D3 is, he called in sick to work and is still playing 11 hours after launch. (it's 1 PM and he's been up since 6 AM the previous day)
i just read about aimee copeland and decided to spend the $50 i was saving for d3 to help with her medical finances.. ill probably buy it eventually but the story was pretty much on my mind all day and i wouldnt be able to enjoy any games
My CE is out for delivery, should be waiting for me when I get home from work. Hopefully they have the server/login issues resolved so I can play tonite.
On a side note, I've found it humorous at all the people who took off work and are whining that they can't play because of server issues or haven't gotten their copy delivered yet. Who still takes off work to play a game? Not only are you paying $60-$100 bucks for the game, but you're also giving up a full days pay or a vacation/sick day. I realize people are excited to finally play but come on, the game isn't going anywhere.
I put 4 hrs into the game tonight and I can honestly say it's a good game :)
I'm probably going to buy it tonight, although I doubt I'll be able to play on this MacBook. It was kind of a slideshow during the beta, even on all lowest settings.
