This is the greatest day in my life.
They cant do it there not good enough the pats are just to good. nope your all wrong.
Dear everyone on earth,
Suck it.
Sincerely,
Eli Manning
:D
::edit::
ps Especially Tiki Barber.
Game of the year and certainly catch of the year at the end of he game by Tyree.
Tyree's catch will go down as one of the great acrobatic catches of any SB. As a life-long Steeler fan I have to admit that it eclipses Lynn Swann's incredible catch against the Cowboys. Amazing! Congrats to the Giants!Quote:

pretty long odds on that. But no matter. They did it once. Peyton looked happier than Eli on the go-ahead touchdown pass.
I've got nothing against the Patriots, Tom Brady, Bill Bellichick, the fans, or anyone else associated with the organization.
I also could care less about the Giants. 100% neutral all the way around.
What makes my day though, is seeing all the smug, godlike, untouchable sports writers on ESPN and elsewhere having to eat their words for the past 4-5 months, and especially the past couple weeks. Articles basically amounting to nothing more than,
"Why bother? NE will be perfect and win everything. How dare the Giants; the little, measly, unattractive Giants, even show the audacity to show up at the game!
Here's 1,984 reasons why the Giants have no shot to win and why Tom Brady and Bill Bellichick should be President/Vice-President in 2008.
Here's 14 articles about Tom Brady's latest bowl movement and what his girlfriend (by the way, she's a SUPERMODEL) thinks of his choice of fabric softener."
...that is what I'm glad to see finally over and shamed. It's one thing to indulge in rhetorical flourishes AFTER the game, when you can write definitively about the facts as they happened, and truly examine their impact.
But the smug pomposity dripping from so many sports writers articles weeks before the game was even played made me sick.
And I'd love to take monroeski's post/letter from Eli and apply it specifically to a room full of these hacks. :)
The last few minutes of the game made it worth it.
I actually called the Burress touchdown...he had been shut down all game but I said "Just wait he's saving his best for last. He'll finish the drive with a touchdown". Sure enough a couple plays later he scored :D
All I can say is that I was rooting for NY, for no other reason than to see the underdog win. And they did.
Now, I can go back to not caring about football again.
I found myself rooting for NY too. I didn't like the Giants before this post season. Now... I kinda like em.
I don't about you but the hype and sensationalism sell, which is why I don't focus on the articles and commentary too much on ESPN. It's good in small doses but sadly, professional sports is more about what happens outside the game. And sports writers are never admit they're wrong because the players didn't follow through with the game plan.Quote:

peyton lost so many times against NE he probably prayed to god he could beat them and he did, that SB was more fun than glory for him.Quote:

i dont know about brady, hes somewhat placed there by the media - but people like harrison, samuel, dillon (ex-player i know) and others deserved to loose. im not 100% sure but wasnt kyle brady (ex-jaguar) on the NE roster? i believed he deserved a ring, hes a really great guy.
then again, NY had the things to prove and espically Eli so he had more hunger whilst peytonn ate his meal against NE ?!?!
being a MD man myself (follow ravens and maryland football in general) i wanted to see a draw LOL just to see how many OT's the nfl would allow...but in the end i leant NE to see the 19-0 but i realised that the novalty would rub off so i ultimatley was screaming "go eli go" in my office lol (played from 11am-2pm aussie time)
