The Falcons are tearing it down with a sledgehammer today; rumor has it that Warrick Dunn and Lawyer Milloy are on the chopping block next.
You kind of have to wonder if they're cutting too fast, though; Crumpler still has some trade value, even if it's a late-round pick.
Leftwich got cut too. So they have Harrington and whoever that other guy eh?

'Phins look to cut Zach Thomas.
Which in one way is bad because he is better than anything they have to replace him... even at 35 years old.
But in another way is good because I don't think that he justifies what they are paying him.
Hope that he does well for another team...

Lito has been to 1 or 2 pro bowls. He even made an all-pro team in 2004. His problem is that he has been injured and missed a handful of games in each of the last 3 seasons. When healthy, he is probably the best player on the Eagles D. He is a clutch player who has sealed several wins with game clinching INTs. He is a threat to score when he makes a pick. He also wants a new contract, which combined with his injury history, may be why the eagles would be willing to trade him.Quote:

Kawika Mitchell wasn't an absolute stud, he didn't shine in coverage...but he made big plays against the run and he had some very clutch plays during the season. He was the kind of LB that you didn't notice because he did his job so well and you had nothing to complain about. He actually did a little more than that. He only made $1 million last season on a 1 yr contract, the guy deserves to get paid and I wish him the best in buffalo.
I don't like the eagles signing samuel, whether they keep lito or not. If they do they have 3 REALLY good corners. Three guys where you can't decide which ones should be the starting 2 corners. On top of that you have Dawkins in the secondary as well. Definitely worrisome for the nfc east teams.

Another thing thats possible is there have been rumors of Sheldon Brown moving to strong safety. He certainly can hit and tackle extremely well for a corner, and he obviously can cover. If Dawkins stays healthier this year than he was last, it would probably make the Eagles the best coverage team, at least on paper. In a league that seems to pass more and more every year, thats huge.
I do like Lito a lot, but he just can't stay on the field. Trading him for a receiver that demands double coverage would be huge for our offense. Our biggest problem last year was red zone offense, we where in like the top 5-6 in yardage, but near the bottom in points. No true go to receiver and LJ Smith hurt pretty much all year was the main reasons for that.
