Favre is being a real douche here.
I doubt your senario. Would the fans and stockholders sit quietly with Favre on the bench? I very much doubt it. He will cause a circus, thats for sure. There is no way he will sit on a bench. He will be starting. The question is where. Can GB keep him out of the division and on a lame team? Like Tampa or kansas city? Manegment do not want him exclipsing GB, nor do they want him on the GB sideline or bench. Will they make the QB an open compition? I would think besides Rogers, most of the team would think they would be better off with Farve in the huddle. It will be a hard decision, but I see him getting traded to some non competitive afc team.

Something else to think about - Rodgers has two years left on his contract. If they bring Favre back this year, will they extend him? Or will they hand the reins over to a one year guy next year?
Well, that's a hard decision to make I think.
GB could be a Super Bowl team this year with Favre. I think that is a hard thing to turn ones back on... It's the whole reason why teams compete... to win a Superbowl.
I am also a big advocate of the "longterm". I think that ultimately, it pays the highest dividends.
But I think in this situation, I go with Favre for one more year... and the extra year of development and learning may pay off longer term dividends with Rogers development as well.
Rogers is an unknown. Why worry about him? Farvre is know commodity. He is a pro QB. At best, Rogers will struggle this year and you have 2 years left on his contract. Wouldn't you try for the superbowl when it is a possibility instead of waiting for .....hmmm. What do you wait for...? A good team with a pro QB. I still think he will be either starting for GB or starting for a non competitive quarterback needy afc team like Baltimore or Kansas City.
Jason Taylor a 'Skin, and Jeremy Shockey a Saint.
A couple good players go to diff teams.
'Skins are going to play Taylor at left DE I hear... a big mistake putting him on the TEs side I think...
I think the Raiders training camp opens today. I want to know what they plan for DT if moving Kelly fails. The O should be better this year. With the running backs they have, Russel should see a lot of 8 man fronts. Which means some play action and short zone busting routes. I look forward to preseason. And hey, my team is undefeated.
Yeah and so are 31 other teams. :p
I'm curious to see if McFadden will get any playtime. From what I understand their O line wasn't terrible last year and if that's the case, look the hell out. I'm not just a huge Razorbacks or college football fan, but watching that dude run the last three seasons was a blast.
I don't typically watch the Raiders games, but I'm sure the local cbs affiliate will give us plenty of him. I remember when Matt Jones went pro - all we got was Jaguars games for an entire season.
Jones....what a waste, dude got busted with the cocaine.
Brett Favre... A JET?!?!?!
Traded this morning. One of my good friends is a Jet fan at least he will be happy...
Saw that.
After I had thought about it a bit over the past few days, I actually like this development quite a bit.
As a 'Phins fan, I want to see what is best for them.
I think that Favre is a great QB... even now. This will hurt Miami... this year. But Miami is going nowhere this year. And a few years down the road, this will be hurting the Jets from lost draft picks.
So short term pain for long term gain.
Before I had thought it out, I had wanted him to go to the Bucs. But once I had thought it out a bit more, I wanted him to go to the Jets. A good development I think.
And... I still think that Pennington is a good QB. Not great... but good. I don't think that any QB would have done well with the Jets last year. Hopefully the Jets release him.
Well Im glad its finally done. As much as I hate to see Favre go like this, the media cluster**** that is Wisconsin is much worse. I wouldve cried if he went to the Viqueens. Jets are a good choice. Not gonna have to face him very often.
I wanted to see him play the packers this year. So sad. But now back to more talking heads debating useless facts. Bring on the games.
Good, get him out of the NFC.
Holmgren's last home game as the Hawks coach will be against the Jets, should be interesting.
My wish has been granted! Pennington was released today!
I'd love for Miami to pick him up... and with Parcells in Miami... maybe it will come true!
I saw this too:
On such a crappy team, Pennington's numbers were not bad... much better than Clemens.Quote:
Pennington was 1-7 as the starter, and Clemens went 3-5, but the veteran actually had the better season statistically. He threw for 1,765 yards and 10 touchdowns and nine interceptions; Clemens had 1,529 yards, five TDs and 10 interceptions in 10 fewer pass attempts.
I love how all the analysts are already calling the Jets a possible playoff/wildcard team. They musta forgot that they still dont have an O line to protect him, a receiver to throw at, or a defense.
