i just ran 3dmark06 for the first time(no oc yet, later tonight) and i scored 8412......is that any good? lol, it sure didnt seem like it to me.
alright, now im at 8607......*sigh*
Depending on the system, an 8800GTS scores about 8k-9k at default speed. I've gathered that a quad core system usually scores about 1k more than a similarly spec'd dual core rig. With both your CPU and GPU OC'd, you should get pass the 10k mark......your score of 8.6k was with your CPU @3.3ghz?
yes it is at 3.3 right now. i just got the latest forceware drivers and my score is now 8667....not too much better. im going to start ocing my vid card and see where it takes me.Quote:

alrighty, just broke 10,000!! wahoo, im excited. vid card at 620/1000. btw, how hot is too hot for a vid card? the hottest it got during 3dmark was 68C which seems high to me but mabey not for a video card.
Just be sure that there's good airflow in your case, or better yet, remove the side panel while benching.;) Have fun, dude!:DQuote:

BTW, if you wanna join the team, just post your full system spec here and I'll get right on it.
my case has really good airflow actually. at least i hope it does. i got 4 80mm fans in the bottom front pushing in, one 80mm on the side pushing in, one 80mm on the top sucking out, and 2 80mm in the back sucking out as well. it should be doing allright.Quote:

Just post your spec in the format below -Quote:

Another thing is, you must include a link to the team site in your sig, only then am I allowed to by the powers that be (namely Pyro and vert :p ) to insert you into the team. Lookin' forward to welcoming another victim....oops, I meant member.:D
do i have to have 01, 03, and 05 to be on the team? lol, isnt 01 a little old? or is that the requirement? if so then ill do it.
cpu: amd 3.3 gig
mobo: gigabyte GA-M57SLI-s4
ram: 2 Gig Patriot eXtreme DDR2 800
video card: EVGA Geforce 8800 GTS @ 620/2000
video mem: 320 mbs
ill get you linkys when i dl and install all the other 3dmarks
look forward to being on the team! i cant believe ive been a member since 01 and im just now joining the team. well i was in the marine corps infantry for 4 years and overseas most of it so that may be why lol.
hey another thing i was going to ask, is it alright to have my fan running at 100% all the time? in riva tuner you can set it to what ever or have it chance when it hits certain temps but id just rather have it running full blast all the time. its not gonna hurt nothing is it? i wouldnt assume so but you know what happens when you assume things ;)
I don't see anything wrong with having the fan run 100%, only downside is the noise, but the GPU/mem should be running cooler as a result. And no, you don't need to have all four 3DMarks....any of them would do I believe (I hope the powers that be can clarify on this, I'm just a lowly worker bee here):p :D
and tada!

sign me up
edit: pretty please:D
While not exactly in the format I'd specified, I'll accept this but I need a proper link to FM. You need to login to FM (if you already have an account, if not, just join FM and create an account), click on the 'publish' box and update. Once that is done, look for a compare url (should be near the top), copy that and paste it in your post here. Once that is done, add a link to the team site in your sig and I'll get to it. Sorry for making you go thru this hassle, I'm a stickler for the rules, anyway, old vert might fire my butt if I were to take liberties with the rules. :DQuote:

I believe you'd have to register with 'em....it's been a while and I've totally forgotten the process.:o Here's sumething I'd found on the FAQ -Quote:

Hope this helps coz I really can't remember as I'd signed up with FM years back.:o
okay that makes sense, ill get on that. im having problems with riva tuner unforunetly as it seems to have driver problems with this version of forceware and vista. kinda ticking me off. everything runs great for a while and then it starts crashing out of games. i thought mabey it was my vid card temps at first but they were fine and i could loop 3dmark06 5 times or so and it would be fine. kinda sucks. coolbits dosent work in vista yet and i cant find another decent program to oc with. dont know what to do about that!!!! kinda puts a hamper on my benchmarking. blah!Quote:

Ehhh, the link's broken dude, I can't proceed w/o valid link :( ......I DID mention that I'm real anal about this sorta thing, right?:p :DQuote:
