One thing that struck me as odd though. When I first ran 3Dmark '01,
I was coring 15,500k with the cpu running @ 32206Mhz 5/4 ratio.
(The gpu was stock)
Then I decided to try stock cpu and speed racer mode BANG 17K on the first run.
I got the other 700 marks oc'ing the video card.:confused:

enjoy your a64 3000+ and keep that 9800 pro, its a great card and strong in dx9 and pixel shaders. youll want it for tomorrows games! you could pull 21k or even 22k with that new rig! since your so lazy, I wont make you update my score for now, but im at 16490 right now. im gonna mod my ti4200 soon and go for the gold!
HeHe! My 'fame' is spreading! :p Go for it T'bird. I wouldn't mind updating yours, or anybody else's score as it's quite simple - compared to the hassle of benchmarking and OCing myself.:o I am, however, thinking of getting a pair of PC3700/PC4000 ram to beat 233mhz FSB - that's when my VIA board drops AGP/PCI to default speed I think. mushkin l2 bh-5 will break 233 no problem. those high speed, high latency rams SUCK! i tried pc4200 on my A64 setup and even at 275 1:1 i could not beat 230 1:1 on tighter timings.

ras:cas of 4 will kill you. the r:c delay is the most important on an A64 platform, you absolutely need that to be 2... which means bh-5/6. you need corsair LL rev 1.1, hyperx 3200 non-a, or OCZ EL LE... something like that. too bad mushkin is not available... consult the big list of bh-5/6 for further reference: http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...threadid=27888Quote:

If you're gonna go A64, do it right the first time so you can see the tremendous advantages it offers. Don't let some so so ram dissapoint you.
Hey, that's why I'm asking around and learning more about it. ;) Already got my cpu and mobo, but too lazy to do anything, so my friend - the hardware expert - is doing it for me.:o In the process of selling my XP2800+, mobo and, hopefully, my 9700Pro - gives me a great excuse to get Triplex 9800XT.;) I'm still learning more about ram so that I don't fudge things up by getting the wrong kinda ram.:DQuote:
