Thats just it if they will not listen, then no matter what anybody says they are not going to change their mind, so just give it the good old college try then leave it. Don`t stay there trying to explain something to someone and get more and more fustrated about it. I know some people have got annoyed with me because It takes me several tries to get my point across, but I`m working on that, but I do listen. :)Quote:

Stock core is what your speed of your video card is when you have not overclocked it, same goes for the memory Actuall is how high you have your video card overclocked when you run 3D Mark and it also applies to both core and memory. for example my 9800np is 324/290 at stock speeds, but it is 430/370 at overclocked speeds. hope this helped.Quote:

Ok ill be the big man and apologize. I was not making fun of you and to let you know, most of us arent exactly floating in money either. was just repeating one of the facts you said, but what Opsar did was really out of line now. Can we get back on topic now? so what day will that a64 arrive to your house? 3200+? cant wait to see some mean benchies outta that monster :D
I think lone did not take offense and is not easily offended. ;) If you didn't mean to offend, he'll prolly take it as that but there's such a thing as being tactless, and you were tactless then.:) Anywayz, that's all behind us as of now.Quote:

Lone, I'd advise you to wait for 939 to come out, my friend tells me that he'd be able to unload my A64 and mobo when 939's out so I'm game for an update too.;) :)
socket 939 sounds very sweet. I hear any a64 will work in it but only the 3700+ and up will have a memory controller capable of dual channel. Meaning unless you pay $450+ for the 3700+ its best to stick with a 3200+ for half the price and socket 754. Also I dont know how good the 3700s will overclock but they come at 2.4GHz stock. I sure hope you can lower the multi on those at least if you cant get high fsb at its locked 12x multi. If theres a way to lower the multi, 10x250 would be sweet if your ram can handle it 1:1. If not, leave it at 12x and just push the fsb as high as you can. 220fsb should be doable for 2.64GHz with good cooling. 230fsb for 2.76GHz may or may not be an easy overclock to achieve. But one things certain, 230x12 with dual channel ram at 2-2-2-6 timings is gonna be real sweet. 25k very possible with the 9800 of yours, 18k with the ti4200
T'bird, you're such a 3DMark nut. I'm not even thinking of benchmarks - although hitting 25k would be sooooo sweet:cool: - I'm more concern with gaming experience.;) T'bird, you really should take some time off to smell the roses..........OK?:D
Yes, I agree, the 939 will be a lot more future proof then the 754 and I believe that the 754, was just something put out there to fill in until they could get the others out there. BTW, just looked at AMD cpu roadmap for 2004, 2.6ghz with 1mb L2 coming in Q4 2004, get a DC 939 MB with some high priced good memory. Dreaming of 3D Marking goodness.:DQuote:

thanks Lone but what i realy wanted was how do i find those numbers out, BIOS i suppose?
Do you have a OCing program like rage3d tweak or Rivatuner, if not download one of them here www.guru3d.com and it will show you your stock speeds and also allow you to overclock your video card, but if you have not oced your video card before come back here for instuctions on how to do it safely. I guess you want to know about your 8500 right.Quote:
