ok after fooling around with the settings in rivatuner and installing the 174.74 drivers i have gained 600 points back since the ram has been gone. i still have 1350 to go though
What are you shooting for? Whatever the case, rock on dude!:DQuote:

Edit - I've gotten my CPU up to 399x10=4ghz, but those benchmark scores are for later....;)
10000 once i get my damn ram back this week
got another 400 points back so i'm up to 9113
You can do it, dude!;) Go for it!:DQuote:

OK guys, I've bought and am DLing the Advanced version of 3DMark Vantage and will give it a spin. I don't expect to do well with this one based on some leaked benchmarks I've seen floating around in the net. Will report back later when I've finished the benchmark...
go the ram back and i am so tempted to bench with it but its the same part number 97432(AKA THE SHITTY BATCH) :(:( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :(
here's my latest:

3.5ghz X3220
8800GT SLI@733/1030

and here are some tests I did earlier last week on the G80 vs G92 SLI and single cards :)
8800GTS 640mb (G80) SLI results in 3dmark06:
http://service.futuremark.com/compare?3dm06=7020268
This was run at 3.4ghz and the GPUs were both on a mild OC of 594/900
15882
http://service.futuremark.com/compare?3dm06=7023977
This one is a slightly higher oc of 615/910 with 16071 points
Single:
http://service.futuremark.com/compare?3dm06=7025978
Single GTS G80 clocked aggressively @ 684/999 with 12846 points (Zotac card...rox)
http://service.futuremark.com/compare?3dm06=6951327
Single GTS G80 clocked at stock 576 nd whatever the stock memory speed is ( EVGA SC card)
11379
Here are the few 8800GT (G92)SLI results I've gotten so far:
http://service.futuremark.com/compare?3dm06=7045322
8800GT SLI ran @730/1052 16806 points
http://service.futuremark.com/compare?3dm06=7036476
8800GT SLI ran @700/1000 16763 points
http://service.futuremark.com/compare?3dm06=7033995
8800GT SLI ran at stock speeds (600/900) 16369 points
I think my CPU is getting maxed out here as there's not that much of a difference numbers wise even after a very healthy overclock...
Single:

Single 8800GT @ stock speeds 12330 points
That is all I have for now, I used the same drivers for all the tests and same settings.
At first I was a bit dissapointed with the 8800GT cards judging by 3dmark alone, but then I finally did what they were meant to do : play games.
I was able to set some pretty high settings in Age of Conan (1920x1200, 4x aa, etc...) and it's very stable and smooth with high FPS rates.
The G80 SLI cards did well in the game too, but I still had to compromise on many things. There's no definite benchmark for a game like AoC, but if I was to guess I'm playing a good 30-40% smoother on higher settings with the G92SLI setup.
The 8800GT cards are the PNY brand I picked up @BB. They both have a DuoOrb mounted ( to clarify: stock they come like any other G92 with the stock cooler, I put the DuoOrbs on myself) and they run fairly cool....it's about 99 degrees right now in NYC, so I'm sure they'll do better. Idle is in the low-mid 40s, and the highest I've seen on load (in 3dmark/aoc is about 55-57). Both cards like to O/C and the wall is around 740mhz for the O/C...though I will keep them at a good 650/950 or so until this heat wave passes, and even then, they're plenty fast stock.
Though the G80 in SLI/single did pretty close to the G92 in 3dmark they:
a. ran a LOT hotter, overheated when my A/C was off...
b. real world numbers are great, but not nearly as great as 3dmark makes them out to be
Take these numbers for what they are. I will add more as I test some more.
All tests were ran on a quadcore [email protected]
now I want to do a secondary gaming rig (WHY?????I DON'T KNOW LOL) and use the Zotac card with another G80 GTS for some cheap SLI goodness.
Sheesh... A little too close for comfort there. Looks like I have to do some benching again, heh.Quote:

new setup again...
Hd4850 Crossfire on a Asus Rampage Formula (16x/16x). Cards are at 700/1100 both cooled by TT DuoOrbs so everything's nice and cool.
CPU is at 3.5ghz (438x8) on air
for some reason 3dmark detects my CPU as 3900+mhz..I wish it was that
edit: I am retarted apparently, I can't figure out how to put the 3d mark team thing in my sig with a direct link lol
[yyy=http://3dmarkteam.irydium.com/][size=1][rrrrr=blue][z]Sharky Extreme 3DMark Team[/z][/rrrrr][yyy]
Just copy what I have above and do the following -
Replace yyy with url
Replace rrrrr with color (you can choose another color if you wanna, doesn't have to be blue)
Replace z with b
I'll include you in the team db a little later, I'm late for an appointment right now....gonna pick up my new phone!;)
mikey i think hes gonna own u
Though I haven't officially 'announced' it, my new '06 scores' in my sig.....not impossible, but gunslash has gotta score close to 3k more to beat me.;)Quote:

P.S. on xtreme systems they finally found out how to break the 700 MHz OC limit but it hasto be gone on water cooling

On air it's about as high as it will go, going from 3.5 to 3.6 takes too much juice.
now when the drivers are updated and the 700mhz GPU clock limit is removed, it will be interesting what these cards can O/C to with some extra voltage w/o modifying the bios
amd overdrive GPU tool will be able to do it when they release it for the 4 series
here's a new one :
http://service.futuremark.com/compare?3dm06=7328353
19930 :D
I was just messing around with some overclocks, and surprisignly my CPU was able to do 3.8ghz on air, go figure...i never tried to go this high, but it does it.
It's not overly stable, but it can run 3dmark and I can browse and stuff, but locks up shortly after I fire up prime95
I think with some tweaking it can actually be stable, but I've done so much tweaking and overclocking and benchmarking in the last few months, that at this point I just want to play some games lol.
I figure a quad core @3.6ghz is plenty enough
cpu:A64 X2 4000+ @ 3118mhz 10.5x297
motherboard: M2N-SLI deluxe
ram: Patriot DDR2 800
video card: ATI Radeon HD 4850 750/1025
os: Windows XP pro SP2
cpu cooling: zalman 9500a
video cooling:stock
score: 11157
http://service.futuremark.com/result...&resultType=14
this damn dual core is holding me back
mikey can you please update my score
well I ordered a GTX 280 ($384 AR @ tigerdirect right now)...the HD4850 cards are great, but for some reason they were a headache with a few of my games that I happen to be playing right now.... (crysis, grid, nwn2...everything else seems fine, go figure)
So, the good news is : I will soon have new results to add, and I can do benchmarks in 3dmark06 or anything else @ request for comparison of crossfire hd4850 vs gtx 280
and also these cards will be in the classified section in a few weeks
