What would be the best drivers for a 9800XT?
CAT 3.8 started supporting 9800XT, any drivers before, I would probably have to modify the inf file to install them, do you think it is wise???

versus the 3.10 ... how much extra will 3.2 give me do you think? (looking for extra 100 or so points ... I want to break 22k)
I took a look at the files inside and can't figure out what exactly to modify ... could you guide me

i would say the difference is likely to be 60-80 points, but you might get 100 or more out of them. i never used the 3.10 so i can't say for sure. PM me if you want the modified inf files.Quote:

Normally I wouldn't update my previous run if I just beat it by 8 points.. but because this was a run with Windows XP, i think it deserves an update.
Dan and titus,
You both inserted/updated!:D Nice score on the A64 setup, I'm gonna put my 9800Pro into my A64 rig and see what I'll get.:) And Titus, impressive 5 points jump there!:p :D HeHeHe! Just teasin' ya dude, don't flame me now.:D
Edit : BTW, titus, I'd need the stock speed of your cpu coz I ain't familiar with Mobility chips.:o
My first benches (3d mark 2001) with my new setup
havent published anything yet so...you'll have to trust me on my word :)
everything stock CPU @ 2Ghz (10x200)
ram 2,5-3-3-6 (did'nt know xms runs cas2,5 on AMD setups :/
9700 non pro @ 275/270
gave me 17590
my AMD64 @ 2,15Ghz (10x215)
ram 2-3-2-6
9700 non pro @ 330/330
gave me 19195
cpu can go higher i think cus my loadtemps at that speed is 38C, i'm concerned about my ram though :P
also im running on a computer that i didn't format for like 2 years
and with WinXP home edition
CPU - AMD AthlonXP 2400+M (13.5x133 = 1.8 ghz) - 11.5x220 @ 2.1v = 2.536 ghz

Does anyone know how frustrating it is to be 18 points from 21K? Ah well... the quest will continue... 21k will be mine! I am gonna keep you busy mikey :p
edit: keep in mind mikey that these runs on WinXp.
*bows* thank you! and I'll have you know, I have the lowest clock speed on the first page of the 3d mark results ;)Quote:

now to see what some overclocking will do... if only I had Tbird's 4200...
your ram should not be at cas 2.5, something is wrong.Quote:

CMX512-3200C2PRO XMS3200 512MB 2-3-3-6* 184 DIMM Black XMS ProSeries
* These parts support 2-3-3-6 latency on Intel platforms, and 2.5-3-3-6 latency on AMD platforms.
thats the memory i have.

weird... i would still guess that they're CH-5 chips, so they should still do 2-3-3-6, i would try increasing the voltage a little bit.Quote:
