Hrm, big fight over who owns the site, some people wanted to take the site from Fugger, so Fugger banned all of them. Well its not that simple, but there are various threads there you can read about it.
Back on topic -- yea, although it might be easier now with the mobile XPs, you're gonna have a tough time getting up there. It took xDuck (where has he disappeared to anyway?) 2 Prommies and bunch of voltmods to get to 23k. One milestone at a time eh?
there have been many people who a toaster certified (hit 250MHz FSB with at least 8hrs of prime stable), so I think I could get there ...
I need to pull 2.5k out of this comp ...
maybe I'll do some testing to see if scores increase linearly as different clocks increase ...
you're going to need card clocks. i'd worry about your FSB later, you won't even get 23k if you don't pull some huge numbers out of the 9800.Quote:

480/400 bare minimum, 525/415 would be what i would shoot for with a v-mod. texture corrpution isn't a problem until it starts to hurt performance (when it gets really really bad).Quote:

Plus you have a chance of permenantly ruining your card like that.

I am also thinking about the Vsense mod for my PSU ...
a v-mod will reduce artifacts if they are caused by under-volting. if the artifacts are there constantly and don't get worse as you go, they can be taken care of with voltage. if they are mild at the beginning and bad at the end of a run, then you've got thermal issues and voltage will only hurt you.Quote:

The Vmods will also take some very good cooling. At a minimum, I would say watercooling and watercooling with pelts would be even better. As you crank up the voltage on a VC, you will see heat will become a really big issue.

I am considering watercooling, but unless I get a job that will earn me at least 2 grand by the end of this year, I'm def not doing WC ... anyone know what BestBuy pays per hour? (can you say employee discount?)

if bestbuy will pay at least 8 or 9USD per hour, it would be equivalent to what I got paid when lifeguarding ... I don't want to lifeguard, there are too many assholes in this world ... I'd rather sell them an alienware which they won't need (in terms of performance) ...

NP, but can you explain why your link has the score only? I don't see any benchmark figures for the 1st 4 tests except for the score, is something wrong with your link? Another thing, I can't update your score now as I'm surfing on and trouble shooting my niece's new rig. :D For a 12 year-old girl, her rigs's pretty good. I tried UT2k4 on it and it rox at 1024x768 with 2xAA/4xAF!:eek: As T'bird would put it, FR was "butter smooth" - doesn't dip below 50fps;) Her rig's as follows :Quote:
