Among all the NFL RBs ESPN analysts picked Payton/Brown. I personally never saw them play unless I saw them on ESPN classics but I saw a good deal of Barry though.

I would put Barry and Payton on the same tier with a slight edge to BARRY only because of Detroits defense compared to Chicago's. Because the defense was so craptacular, this left the offense on the field more which caused more fatigue to settle in. Yes this would give him more rushing attempts but to do this day in and day out was simply amazing.

Basically though you are picking your poison.

edit* Barry made it look sooooooo damn good though and I like style.

Sanders is the best ever, guy would have smashed all records, the jerry rice of RB's if he stuck around but he didn't want to.

LT is pretty good too, I think he will pass jerry rice's 207 TD's for all time....he already has like 87 and not even 6 full seasons, though rb's don't last as long as receivers, he's both.

lol since when is having your offense on the field more than the D a bad thing for the offense? The d gets more tired than the offense when they're out there that's why ball control is important. Thats the first time i've heard someone say having the offense out for a long time is bad because they get tired.

tiki is too good, and wait for someone on the d line to even breathe on bledsoe and watch the crappy passes fly. it should be a good game

Usually you want your offense on the field more because you can control the subs and flow of the game but if you run every damn play and your lineman don't do ****, that puts a huge toll on your RB. It was moments like these I would cry for the RB. Barry Sanders and Gayle Sayers were the only 2 RB's that I knew that received this type of punishment. If you had a half way decent o-line, there is less punishment.

Anyone see the Earl Campbell interview re-aired the other day on sportscenter?

He is 48 years old and can hardly walk because of the beating he took in the NFL.

That's one of the reasons cited when Ricky Williams abruptly retired. He apparently talked to Earl fairly often and didn't want to end up like him, since he was one of those heavy on the carries types of backs.

Seasons 1/3rd over.

McNabb is the obvious MVP choice right now, without him the Eagles are absolutley garbage. Plus he is on pace for like.... 5000 something yards.
