I think the GM's are onto Mays; a real athletic freak but not great in coverage and may not turn out to be much of an actual football player. Not a bad guy to take after the first though. I have heard he's being all pissy at Pete Carroll for not taking him. lol

Tate has a chance to be kinda like Desean. Not quite as quick, but a little bigger and stronger.

Nate Allen is actually the guy I wanted. Not a big hitter, but excellent in coverage. I will take the fottball player over the athete every time. Now we need a corner...every time I think of Hobbs starting for us, I think of Plaxico completely losing him and catching the superbowl winning TD all alone in the endzone. Daniel Te'o-Nesheim was a reach, Reid always screws up a good draft by taking a project player to high. We had just taken a D End and have too many holes on defense. I thought a Corner like Kevin Thomas might have been a better fit. But Philly does well in finding surprises in the 4th and 5th rounds and we have 2 4ths, so maybe they will pull something off.

We actually had 4 4th round picks.

Te'o Nesheim probably was a bit of a reach (though I like him as an ex-Husky) but I generally don't have a problem with smart GM's following a hunch. Hard to remember that they know better than us sometimes.;)

I remember my fanbase being in a state of general uproar when we traded up in the 2nd to get Lofa Tatupu, most thought he was a reach. Then he went to 3 straight pro bowls.

Our project players over the last 2-3 have not panned out. Trying to covert Gocong to a 4-3 SAM failed, he is more suited to be a rush outside linebacker in a 3-4. Bryan Smith was a failed pick at D-end. Trying to convert Tony Hunt to a fullback failed. It gets to the point where if you need a linebacker or a fullback, just draft one instead of trying to convert a player into one. And the last thing Philly needs is an undersized guy to be a pass rusher. If I hear the term "fastball" one more time when describing a defensive lineman I am going to puke. What Philly really needs is a large, penetrating type of player to collapse the pocket. We have enough edge rushers. Bunkley and Patterson are excellent at holding the point, but fail at getting push on passing downs. Both are more suited to being 1 gap players, but are playing in a 2 gap system.

Ricky Sapp fell to the 5th round and Philly grabbed him. Another guy thats very athletic, a bit smallish, and probably more suited as a 3-4 linebacker. I am sure he will be converted to be Philly's new SAM, and end up either being to small to shed blocks, or get abused trying to cover a tight end. More of the same.

Jets traded leon washington and a 7th rd pick for the seahawks 5th. He was just on the radio yesterday saying the jets reassured him he wasn't going to be traded, kinda a backstabbing move

If any of the Raven's risks work out, this will be a freaking incredible draft.

Kindle is a top 10 or 15 talent who fell down to the second round because of potential future injury concerns. If Terrence Cody keeps his weight in check and his head on straight he will absolutely SHUT DOWN the opposing rushing game. Ramon Harewood has great size and intelligence, and if he manages to polish up after only 4 years of playing football he will be a beast. Art Jones was a second round talent last year who only dropped because of an injury. The two tight ends, Pitta and Dickson, provide much needed depth at the position, and what they lack in run blocking ability/experience they make up for in fantastic receiving ability, and add WR Reed on top of that and the offense should have a pretty nice upgrade next year.

The Ravens have probably been the best team in the draft for like 10-15 years. If you look at the lists of players they drafted its amazing.

Oddly enough, those are the type of questions that were asked when I was getting my greencard. I was aksed if I was a communist and if I practiced witchcraft. I couldn't help but crack a smile at those. To which my interviewer smiled and commentated "Yea, we have to ask stuff like that". My lawyer told me to expect it, and that they were looking more at a person's reaction than wanting a specific answer. Though I do know another Canadian who was asked if she'd ever BEEN a prostitute in her interview.

My first two thoughts on hearing the story were

1. They were probably more interested in his reaction to them asking the question than they were in any answer he would give them. Kind of a shock value, personality type thing.
2. How many times every year do people at the combine get asked this kind of question that we never hear about? Honestly, I'll bet it happens at least a few times a year.

Well...they are completely different situations, so I am not sure its analogous at all. Add in the fact that his mother had a drug problem in the past and I can see cause for concern here.

Also, if this was normal and just to try and get a reaction, why has the GM appologized since this story broke? If this was routine why is it being made an issue?
