anyways, how is that EP-4BDA2+ treating you? glad we changed your mind?
That someone was me..I just didn't want to let the cat out of the bag before it was built!
And no one has changed my mind...yet ;)
Currently there is one stick of 256Mb Samsung PC2700 in it...I'll add the other stick of 256 later on today ;)Quote:

Btw I never thought 147FSB was possible on air for any other northwood besides the 1.6A. Thanks for proving me wrong. :)Quote:

I wonder if I can do that to a 2.0 ghz Northwood Celeron.. 1.0ghz overclock on air anyone? ;)
He He...go for it...but with the P4a's going so cheap...why do it with a celeron? ;)Quote:

I'm trying to get 4 years out of my current rig.. I've managed to upgrade quite a bit on this but anyways since I'm mainly using my stuff for office, far from the hard core gamer.. I usually stick with $800 systems or so which means lower than $100 cpu.Quote:

Although you may be right, by next year (the time I'm going to build), the p4 2.4ghz or something might be under a $100 (although I doubt it since P3's cost $120 something now). But it would be nice if it happened.
Also my celeron 800 with a Leadtek GF2 GTS and 256MB Micron PC133SDRAM isn't bad..
Take a look at these screenies from dungeon siege in this thread http://www.sharkyforums.com/showthre...hreadid=127844 .. I got good framerate, and no skips but I'm playing in 1024 x 768 x 32, not 1600x1200.
I guess you can't miss what you never had?Quote:

It's not the worst rig, but I have a feeling if you sat your butt behind a new rig, you'd need a change of pants right quick he he.
;)
No its not that. My friends roomate just spent his hard earned money on a Dell Dimension 8200 I think. P4 1.8 with 512 MB PC800 and a GF 3 Ti500. I sware it wasn't much faster than my friends celeron 1.0ghz, maybe a second or 2 in loading games and stuff but other than that, right on. This is real world performance I'm talking about, not benchmarks.Quote:

But you're right.. I don't use photoshop type programs so I don't need the top edge performance, so why should I pay for what I'm not going to use? Besides the way computers are.. its either spend $400 for 2 years and upgrade or spend $50-100 for 2 years and upgrade. I choose to spend the latter since I'm no nuclear scientist, just someone with a small business who likes to game seldomly. ;)
That's cool.....no need to upgrade in your case.Quote:

I upgrade when I sell my rig...which lately has been about every other week. Selling my scondary rig keeps me in a new rig quite often and I usually don't spend a dime doing it. ;)
Hey KJY9, or may I call you Kev? :) So how are those real world benchies doing? ;)
Yea Im awaiting them too , see if KJY9 has a positive expirience with Intel unlike last time :)Quote:
