Well the reason I think this may be in the works is mainly because of this statement:

Actually, I do things the other way and have AA/AF on all the time. I run smoothly this way, so I guess I'm OK......

As they're more atable and provide better IQ (I think so, anyway) I figure it's a gain if my benches stay the same......plus, I like to see '9800Pro' in my Display Properties, hehheehhe

Ok, what utility do you guys use to completely get rid of the old drivers, prior to updating? Or do you simply do an uninstall and clean up your registry?
My favorite tool for removing older drivers is an old fashion method passed down to me from a good friend of mine... Its sorta a family secret, but I am willing to share it with you...
Its called Format :)
Another way it to just search your registry and remove all the old driver entries...

Do a google on Driver Cleaner. After removing the device in Control Panel, and all related apps, restart, Cancel when Windows finds new device, run Driver Cleaner, restart and load new drivers when Windows finds the device again.Quote:

It's a lotta restarts, but it's easier than digging through the registry or formating your drive. (A format's not a bad thing to do every once in a while, but I wouldn't wanna do 'em every 6 weeks for new CATs)
The "Driver Cleaner" that mikead_99 is referring to can be found at Driver Heaven. I use it myself when I don't feel like doing a complete reformat, and it gets the job done. It even goes through your Drivers.cab file and cleans it up as well. Great tool ;)
i was looking at maybe trying the omega drivers are they that muc better on the image quality scale? if you guys wouldnt mind maybe you can post some pics? and yes cololsus that is the coolest way to change drivers :D
EDIT: amazon.com also has the ship date of hl2 as october 30th which BLOWS!!! but i guess ill just have to be amused by homeworld 2 till then:D
