i just noticed that this sub hits lower than anything i've heard from an MM speaker. maybe just as good as the better HT subs i've heard. now only if it were downfiring. haha, then it'd be a HT sub!

It probably is better than alot of the mainstream HT subs, if it were downfiring? Doesnt matter, I'm pretty sure klipsch has tweaked the hell out of it. Remember the KLIPSCH RSW-15 is the second lowest reaching sub that Tom Nousaine has tested , it uses a front firing design. Alot of good quality subs now use this design.
And to add on to what Swerz is saying, this sub is coupled with a really nice set of sats, with a redesigned cross over network. I think for $400, this set is defniately worth it. Of course that statement is purely opinion, but don't forget a nice warranty and Klipsch customer support is backing it:)
good call, i need to register my 5.1s, even though it's probably not really necessary, especially since i ordered it directly through klipsch.Quote:

Pinchy, have you decided on the stands you'll get? I think the Wal-Mart ones are good enough. I'm just wondering what you found out from the Klipsch forum.
from the klipsch forms, they say they're the same thing, minus the logo. i'm going with the walmart set, i'll probably pick the up tuesday, when i head back to school. i'll let you know how they are when i get them set up.
Thanks alot man, appreciate it:)
Let's not get to excited. Sure the ultras are probably the best pc speakers available, but there in no comparision to real HT speakers.
There's some jealousy in that stament above. I have to get my brake pads replaced, so it will be a month or so till i can save up money for the ultras.
Well yeah we all know most MultiMedia speakers cannot complete with a HT setup... But they will do a nice job :)
BTW: That sig is just way to long dude!
lol, quite true, though the sub on this thing sounds incredible. it suonds better than a lot of mainstream HT subs. oh, and HT speakers are in a whole different ballpark. we all don't have 10K to drop on HT equipment.Quote:

Very true, but let's not turn this thread into a neverending Ultra VS HT speakers argument. (I've seen MANY of those);)
Are you using creative's CMSS on music with those Pinchy?
His Sig says so :DQuote:
