Just marketing, probably. FarCry was a huge hit, if you can sell another FPS with that name, you're sure to get people's attention.

What settings is everyone running at?

On high I'm getting 40fps, ultra high 25. :(

No AA bc it kills performance. 1368x768.

I've heard Nvidia cards need a patch or something. I am running 50+ at everything very high at 1920x1200 with 2xAA. No slow downs at all yet.

everything on high gets me about 30 fps...it's a stable 30fps too

I get terrible simulator sickness though...the fov just seems way too small...when this happens I can generally play about 10-15 minutes a day until it eventually goes away :( it's weird because I've never had this problem until this generation of games

so far in the 10 minutes I've played...the voice acting is one of the worst I've ever heard...sounds like someone's reading directly from a script...there's no emotion at all

The original Far Cry was made by Crytek. This one was made some some half-bit Ubisoft branch in Montreal, I believe.

I still dont get why the game reviews are so frikken high on this game.

It was ATI cards and IIRC it was only with Crossfire.

Im so friggin tempted to buy it but with moving im really short on cash for a while.

Have you played it? Its not that bad. I'm not too far in yet, so my view may change drastically.

They are single shots. I did it several times with a pistol. The machine gun seems to have a lot of kick back.

is just but 8 minutes into the game and I'm stuck.

I'm just left the hotel and like 2 minutes later. I pass out and then I'm in the room with someone in the door.

it prompt me to press "X" (or what ever key I map to for heal) I keep pressing the button and nothingsc happen. and I get stuck in the room.

Oh well if that is true then it is better and as it should be. Regardless until there is a demo I won't consider buying it.

ATI has a "Hotfix" patch for Cat 8.10 that fixes crossfire
in DX9 and both single and crossfire in DX10 for FC2...

nVIDIA has also released a driver to optimize the game...

Just got the notice that my copy of FC2 has been shipped...
