I think a little while back Shaun Alexander wanted to leave Seattle because they wouldn't match the contract he wanted (number of years was the sticking point, I think), and they franchised him, so he agreed to sign a one year contract if they wouldn't franchise him again. After a while they offered one anyway, so now everybody's happy.
