If you consider 5 yards away "in your face" then you're right. As far as two more guys there as well, you must have been watching a different game.

They know he's going to make mistakes, and definitely some will be pretty bad, but he will hopefully learn from them and continue to get better each week. I guess "directly in his line of sight between him and the receiver" would have been better terminology than "in his face."

Saying that about Romo isn't spinning anything for him or for the Cowboys, it's basically the classic (though not only) reason why any rookie starts over somebody else. No one thought Eli would do better than Kurt Warner right away when he first came in, nobody really thinks Vince Young would give them the best chance to win this year, There were other QBs who could have outplayed Alex Smith in his first year, etc. etc. "Spinning" is trying to manipulate other people's points of view on something, often with misdirection, incomplete information, etc. How does saying Bledsoe sucks and it's time for Romo to start learning involve spinning anything? Jones or Parcells would never say out loud that they have given up on the season (no coach would), but I think it's obvious that they're not going to do much with Bledsoe back there, so maybe any change is a good change at this point, and it helps them build for the future.

The Colts only won one game the first year Peyton Manning started, and he had more INTs than TDs. Troy Aikman was 0-11 in his first season as a starter, with 11 TDs and 17 picks. Elway was 4-6, 7 TDs, 14 picks.

You picked one sentence out of 10, and said that's the best I can do? Nice selective listening, there. I can see the strength of your argument by the fact that you didn't respond to anything else I said.

At any rate, looks like Romo is doing pretty well tonight so far. The Cowboys just took the lead, and he's kept a number of drives alive so far with his mobility where Bledsoe would have either been sacked or thrown a pick.

He also has more yards passing in this game than Bledsoe had in any game so far this year. He had more yards passing in one HALF last week than Bledsoe had in 3 out of the 5 full games he played, though you could chalk that up to needing to pass a lot since they were behind and needed to air it out. Aaaand with that touchdown that just put them up 28-14, they have now scored more points than in any other game this year, except for the games against the Titans and the Texans, who aren't exactly the pinnacle of competition. Looks like, barring a miracle, they'll win tonight, which will be their first win against a team with a winning record.

As for my personal attack of this post, I will take a line from one of Terry Pratchett's Discworld novels - "multiple exclamation marks are a sure sign of a diseased mind." :p

Romo didn't look that bad. The O line actually gave him some time to set up and make some plays. Overall a very good win for the CB's. As to the "picking one line" I was making a point as to how unnecessary it was. It was like someone who is losing an argument's last attempt to sound relevant by pointing to something that has absolutely nothing to do w/ the conversation. Oh and you dress funny. (see how childish that sounds?).

The Raiders beating the Steelers...*** is up w/ that. I say only let Oaklands defense hit the field; their offense sucks ***. Good game for Indy vs Denver. Easily lived up to its hype.

It does sound childish, but blatant proofreading mistakes just bother the heck out of me sometimes. If I'm not part of the solution, I'm part of the problem, and all that jazz. :D Still, I put it on the end of a fairly long post of valid points to which there has been no response.

I think the Steelers have officially dropped off a cliff now. I didn't get to see the game, but apparently Roethlisberger just looked TERRIBLE. 1 TD to 4 interceptions. Also sacked 5 times, though you can't tell from a stat sheet if that was the O-line breaking down or if Oakland just had good coverage. I was leaning towards saying they should put Batch in for the last couple weeks, and now I think they should definitely give it a shot. This is the defending Super Bowl champs losing to a team that, two weeks ago, many people didn't think would win a game all year.

great giants game. Today was kind of disappointing as far as games to watch though. Besides the giants, had the jets game, and then the boys and carolina which i wanted to see. But i really wanted to see denver indy which I didn't get.

It looks like the steelers are done and will not make the playoffs. Cower should take ben out and leave batch in. He's had a bad season on and off the field and he needs some time to recuperate. Batch has done pretty well when he's played.

everybody forgets that the oakland raiders have the best pass defense in pro football, boney.

That's only because Oakland's offense turns the ball over so much and the other teams taking advantage of it to take huge early leads, that they don't need to try and throw the ball. They just run to burn the clock. Today they had ZERO turnovers. Absolutely out of character for them.

San Diego also looked good today against the Rams.

Ok I stand corrected. Oakland had 131 total yards and one turnover.

I'm a life long Steeler fan. We have set the record for coming from the Super Bowl to going to the Toilet Bowl in the least amount of time. Sad but true. With the schedule the Steelers have and the way they are playing, it will be a stretch to win 2 more games.

I think losing Bettis hurt a lot more than anybody thought it would, plus everything short of an actual plague of locusts hit Roethlisberger this year. Really, I think they can at least turn this around into a respectable season, just because their defense is good enough to keep them in every game when they are playing well.

I think the biggest overall nosedive I've ever seen is the Raiders, between the AFC championship and the Super Bowl a few years back. They looked great up until the Super Bowl, where they were handily defeated, and after a terrible season the next year it seems like they've been getting worse ever since then.

w00t. go cowboys. Romo played pretty well. Lets see if he can keep it up, if he does continue to play like that, and the defense keeps creating turnovers we have a great chance to make the playoffs.
