I'm pumped! I just ordered a vga silencer rev.3 for my hercules. I expect it to increase my core overclock without using cold air, as currently I'm very limited by heat. So maybe I'll try and break 3k on 2005.:p
Whew...that's a long one! You're updated dude.;) May I ask, is your 9800NP been soft-modded to a Pro, reason why I ask is becoz it shows up in FM as a 9800Pro - hard to believe eh? That I actually bother to check before updating, it's just my nature to cross all the T's and dot all the I's.....not questioning your integrity mind you, I'm just curious.:D Why make is it anywayz? Your NP OC is quite oustanding.....:eek:Quote:

Sorry about that
It looks like you may just take DBlue135 if you can OC your GPU a lil more.....interesting battle between you two.....must remember to stock up on my chips and brewsky, I've recently started on down the brewsky route due to my having one on Vert B'day. So, Vert, if I end being a bum/wino, you're to blame. :p :DQuote:

why thank you, yes, my (former) 9800 non-pro is quite outstanding.Quote:

i believe it's also running the gigacube 9800pro E-die bios, if i remember correctly. It also has my modded Giant II and custom built RAMsinks on it.
i can definately vouch that it IS in fact a 9800 non-pro stock clocks 325/290. It is Sapphire brand purchased from newegg in july '03, so it's an oldie, R350 core.
It is the card that held the #1 VGA OC on sharky forums for quite some time as well as spending time at #1 '01 Unlimited class.
:D
Jeez, then he should have posted his sig as 'Esh's 9800NP', I wouldn't have bother to ask at all. :p And there's no need to vouch as I trust fellow Sharks to be honest.....or am I just gullible?:o :DQuote:

i'm kind of dissappointed that he's not pushing card harder... i benched it at 470/412, so he's leaving a lot on the table... but with me in CA and him in PA there's not much i can do about it at this point.
oh well, it's still a sweet OC for that card ;)
*smacks forehead with hand* Don't I feel foolish.... :o I oughta learn to be a lil more observant....:p :DQuote:

Well, with cold air my gpu does around 460. Hopefully the vga silencer helps out with the cooling there. And I can get the mem to around 376 or a tad higher I think, so I should be able to compete, unless he does indeed push to 470/412, then I'm screwed.:pQuote:

maybe he is running without artifacts while eshbach runs with heavy artifacts? I recall eshbach saying the ram artifacted so bad he could hardly see a thing but that could be at even higher than 412MHz ram clocks. Id push it till theres a little artifacting but thats me ;)
yea that was at like 450mhz... i posted a screenshot once, i'm sure someone could dig it up if they really tried.Quote:

412 artifacts pretty bad, but it's not absoultely horrible.
Then hes probably running artifact free. whats the highest he can go without too much artifacts? 390 ram?
I have a little more that I can squeeze out of this rig. Once I get a better PSU I think I can push the HT a little more.
Also, I think I should be able to squeeze a little more out of the video card. It's artifacting, but not horribly yet.
I can't benchmark for a little while, though. I fubar'd windows and probably won't get it back on there until the 13th. . .
wow, got the vga silencer rev.3 installed. Core max at normal, warm, stuffy dorm room air went from about 425ish to 445ish. I think that's pretty good. :D
