win2k will always be faster, period but thats your call if you want to beat my 3dmark scores ;) $260 is too much, you could have gotten gskill for like $10 more if any is still left that is. 280x9 would be alot better than 252x10 too.

Not with a lot of tweaking in XP and 2000 not getting the best drivers anymore. I had to order it where I could. I got a few points off of that Ricky tweak. It looks like I'll get a lot with your LOD hack :eek: Of course its a meaningless score then. I'll finish it after I get of my webcam session. This memory seems to max out around 280 too before having to go 2t.Quote:

If you have win2k, I suggest you try that too before commenting on xp being as fast cause thats totally false. All the top scores use win2k cause its always faster, period. win2k can be tweaked too, ya know?
Can you explain why your car high and every other test for the matter is so low? Eshbach also commented on your very poor dragon low fps. As for the type of ram you got, I guess samsung has discountinued gskill. I got 2x256 quickly when I heard news of that! I am sure gskill is still around if you can find anyone willing to sell an extra set. I am aware there might be even better ram being made, that coupled with the better ondie controller of venice may prompt me to sell my patriot and maybe even gskill, time will tell. I respect you for not using LOD, I would probably do a bench with LOD and one without LOD and put both scores in the sig.

If you can hit 280fsb at 2.5-3-3-10 t1 then thats good, run 280 with 9x multi and watch your score soar like crazy!

I'll try it. Its odd that my last CPU got the highest score in XP64. It was about 2000 above at one time. At least before the 7X.x drivers. On a side note this caazc chip seems to be doing good elsewhere. I found someone got over 3Ghz on it (air), another got 2.85 at 1.55v!Quote:

I see the huge gain in nature, that is expected. small gains in other tests but why the huge gain in lobby low? this strikes me as odd. anyway give win2k a try along with your tccd and multi apic tweak and you may have 27k without lod :D :cool:Quote:

eshbach, is it true the 5.2 drivers are slower than previous drivers? :mad: This wont look good for the r520 unless this isnt true or the 5.2 was a dud but future drivers will speed up

I haven't personally tested the 5.2 drivers, I still run 4.12. I have heard that the 5.2's do score worse, but the 5.3's will be out in less than a month so we'll see how they do.Quote:

alot of people have problems with the 4.12 freezing or losing signal to monitor including me :( 4.10 and 4.11 are buggy too. Thank god for the 5.1 though. 5.3 wont matter, id say 5.5 maybe cause thats when ati will unveal the r520. If the r520s core is similar enough then maybe itll work with the 5.1, you may need some mods to force it to display r520 but that wont matter if ati can improve drivers, they have till cat 5.5 to do this
Tbird don't forget the x850xt with 512mb.
They will have to tweak their drivers a bit i guess.
Maybe the other cards will suffer an improvement too
A 50% tweaked 2000 gives me about 500 more points. I'm at 25763 with the first run (no lod hacks). Does the APIC trick work in 2k?Quote:

Did that and tweaked windows memory management. I'm running off of an old 3GB hard drive. I needed those tweaks to keep from constantly accessing the HDD :) I've got about 80% of the tricks done besides LOD.Quote:
