Something I heard from somewhere in reguards to attaching the barbs. What about needing a hacksaw? I'll take a risk. It looks like a better heater core. Definately saves money since I was considering two of the above. Any specific type of Bonnyville heater core? 1977? Why is autozone so cheap? I found some listed for about $65 on the net. Total is now

$20 heater core
$75 two smaller quiet pumps in series
$45 Swiftech 6002-a64
$40? accessories

~ $180

one eheim 1048 is going to be plenty, you don't need two pumps in series.

you can do it with a hacksaw, but honestly, i didn't. i have set up two of these for other people and i only used a hacksaw on one.

you'll need to buy some 1" tubing and a tube of marine goop as well as 4 hose clamps that can fit over the 1" (and make sure you regular tubing can fit inside the 1" comfortably, if not you'll need to get bigger than 1").

One 1048. I'm looking at these . Is 1" tubing going to easily work with the rest of the system?

the 1" won't be in any way connected to your system. it is used for making adaptors for the bonneville core.

and i really don't know how that pump compares, sorry.

Not a bad price. Picked one up for $18+tax. Makes me wonder about that $100 black ice extreme II :eek: Have any tips on making the shroud?

get some ~1/8" lexan from home depot. and cut to shape basically.

you can use left over marine goop to hold things together :) it dries as hard plastic.

for pumps id look for somthing that has a bit higher head if your going for high performance, the Aqua extreme 50Z is really quiet and has a head of 10.5 ft

This is the info for the other one. Basically it has a head of about 6ft for a single pump or 12ft for 2 in series. Its from the site that sells the aqua extreme 50z, so I don't know why they would fudge it. VERY quiet. Its also not as bad if one dies.

tbird is referring to the mysterious "X950XT" that showed up on driver heaven a while back. There was a 40k+ run posted on an intel rig at only 4.3ghz (which normally wouldn't be enough for 40k).
