Since when was 3Dmark2001 running at 1024x768 with no AA/AF anything to do with real world performance? My X850XT only scores around 24000/25000 in 3Dmark2001 but your setup would be nowhere close to mine in a proper game, although you're welcome to try.Quote:

I think the '01 score may be disproportionatly low, but the '03 score seems about right.
possible reasons being.
1. I messed around with the services in windows xp so when it boots it hangs for like 30 seconds. (I dont use 2000)
2. I am running latest 5.4 cats...
3. my fsb speed is reported as 202mhz, even though it's 250 :confused: (
4. I am not a 3d mark whore.
5. your score of 31k says you have 2.8ghz san diego (doesnt really compare to 2.5ghz newcastle) and also PCI-express card/shipset.
6. Tbird, my cpu is 100mhz faster, but the ram clock is lower.
7. I play games.
8. I dont 'extreme' tweak so all the installation is capable of is 3dmark at uber low quality setting.
most importantly, I play CS:S with 2xAA and 16xAF with a frame rate around 100.
in all honestly, I can't be bothered to figure why my '01 score is low... I just dont care.
your cpu at 2.5GHz is performing like mine at 2GHz. I know you dont care about 3dmark but if you get to resolving the issue, youll gain alot more performance in games. Your cpu usage isnt optimized. Think of it as a car that needs tweaking to run fast

I have told you 1000 times that 3DMark01 has NOTHING to do with games. A PC that scores 15k vs one that scored 30k means nothing! It doesnt even mean that the one scores 30k can even play games better!
Also some people are not idiots and squeeze every last possible digit out of 3dmarks as other. So with that said and done, it still means 3dmark = crap for any real game comparison.
Score Update :) It ran at 2.92Ghz (1.728v reading) too but the score went down.

Actually now that I think about it, its not that bad. With my Clawhammer at 2.5Ghz and a 6800GT@Ultra I pulled around 26500. It also had way better 2k3/2k5 performance. That 28200 score I had was with LOD hack and tons of tweaking. The 31876 I'm getting now is with tweaking but no LOD.Quote:

ewitte man you need to get on win 2k and DX 8.1 that would help out quite a bit score wise
Just for posting the score I might try 2k tomorrow. This does not do to bad for HL2. On one of the HOCP benches I got around 90fps before with Clawhammer/6800gt. Now its 103 :)Quote:

I got about 13500 and 5700 on the 6800GT/2.5Ghz Clawhammer. I've not run 2k5 yet but 2k3 gives me about 12250.Quote:
