i think the shitty thing about these drivers are that rivatuner isn't compatible with it, and niether is rivatuner's built in refresh rate fix. sux, cuz i really liked rivatuner, and now it serves no purpose :(Quote:

Why does Nvidia have to hold back the performance of their hardware on purpose?Quote:

Or are you just used to ATI taking a year to come up with decent drivers for their Vid Cards?? ;)
An extra 1000 points isn't a normal driver upgrade. I just find it hard to believe that from the last driver revision that it jumped that much further point-wise in 3dmark. They had to have been holding back on purpose. Man, I feel like Solecite (one man versus the world):D, but honestly though, do you really believe that Nvidia actually recieved such a great revelation since the last driver revision to be able to push their hardware that much further?Quote:

Holy crap, what a driver update. I've broken 13000 now! Yes! It was about a 1000 pt jump. I'm still tryin to get it to post on MadOnion, but well, the site's overloaded as hell. I'll just save it for now. Thumbs up to NVidia.
Pinchy
nice tip I just add 500 points to my 3d2001se score. :D oh ps my cool bits reg hack still works too. :D
Anyone remeber the time when Radeon 8500 came out it bested the Geforce 3 and suddenly Nvidia came out with detonator 3 and it was like this amazing performance increase??
no hahaha but i'll believe you. this just further proves the fact that hardware isn't everything and the proper software is the only way to unleash the full potential of a card. go nvidia w00t w00t :DQuote:

Detonator 4/XP optimized GeForce3 = Competition was Radeon 8500 (R200)
Detonator 40 optimized GeForce4 = Competition is Radeon 9700 (R300)
:).
Ohhh yeah this is what I'm talking about :)
10,283 to 11,074, now it's time to beat CrawlingEye's mark :)
Gotta love nvidia and their mean market competition scheme ;):D
haha, I may be getting a ti4600 instead of R9700 due to money issues.
(Only getting $175 instead of what I originally thought was going to be a R9700. :( )
I'll probably save up $50 more and just pick up a ti4600. :)
i got the drivers to load properly once, but it seems like one of the tweaker programs i loaded (either NVMAX or Rivatuner) was ****ing with the system, because my games were performing noticeably slower. i tried to reload the drivers, but i couldn't get 40.41 to load properly on my multimonitor system afterwards (even when i disabled my secondary display); it'd do a full system dump when the driver "finished" installing. it did this with the gf3 and FSB overclocked, as well as without overclocking.
so i'm back to 23.11
Just an idea, but did you try uninstalling your tweak utilities and drivers then just installing the new drivers?
You could be getting conflicts from the tweak program's registry entries.
