I always thought it strange how quickly Kingston became the Ram of choice for a lot of people on this board. I don't have anything against them, but it seems like it only took the introduction of the HyperX ram that people are now having issues with for them to be considered on the level of corsair, etc..Quote:

hyperx ram kicks ***. This issue is not specifically kingston memory i dont think. I hope its a glitch related to voltage on the kingston memory only but i think thats wishfulthinkingQuote:

after reading more i think the XMS 3500 i have coming in monday wont work either :(. If you put it in slot 2 / 3 will it run single channel mode? maybe the memory will run higher like that ... i never tried.
I also think this is a BIOS update fixable problem.

Yes it unfortunately looks like our 8RDA boards are being very picky with the RAM because we can't get a good O/C from it. I really hope Epox or somebody can find a fix for this because the way things are going it looks like it may be the board having compatability problems instead of faulty RAM. I just want to make this clear to other people reading this thread, please don't think that the Kingston or Corsair RAM sucks, it is awesome RAM and should'nt be regarded as bad. Also plz don't assume the 8RDA+ sucks either because it is apparent that only the newer revisions of the board are having problems o/cing the RAM but other than that the board is awesome so please don't assume that these fine products are not living up to their name b/c that is not the case.
for real, hyperX freakin owns. i can take mine to ddr462 at 2-3-3-8, and the ram didn't even crap out. if only my nb was better, i would be able to take my ram to its limit. don't think for a second this ram sucks, i would take it over corsair any day of the week.;)
That's because Corsair had it's own issues in Nforce2s; the TwinX series was made specifically because XMS was having major problems running in Dual Channel mode.Quote:

Well I just heard back from Epox Tech Support. They're still working on it but hopefully we'll hear something by the beginning of next week then.
Here's their reply:
I can understand what he's saying about oc'ing and running asynch. It's cause technically the procs are only supposed to be run at 133mhz FSB anyway. Hopefully though, when they resolve the issue, since most our procs and boards will support a 200mhz bus, we should be able to run them synchronously.Quote:

Nvidia, Kingston and the mobo-makers are going to have a tough time!
I guess the word "Barton" made the alarm bells go off!
They have to guarantee that this board will run perfectly with the 200/400mhz bus, and with the kingston combo, it just won´t happen.
So I think, they will have to come up with a solution, I don´t think blaming it on Kingston will help the mobo-makers.
I mean, would you buy a mobo, of which you knew has compatibility problems with certain sticks of ram? I wouldn´t, and I guess a lot of other users will do the same... Specially if you think about how many people are choosing hyperx over xms, due to the price tag.

Whats this about issues with Corsair XMS? It runs good doesn't it? Crap it better for the pretty penny i just payed for it.

There were issues with that ram as well initially, but I heard they worked them out with a bios release. Can't say for sure though.Quote:

It is just the hyperX that is incompatible with the 8RDA+?
This weekend I'll be getting the DA+'s sister board, the 8RGA+ and DDR 400 ram made by KingMax. The ram has a lifetime warranty so I thought it might be Kingston ram but not sure. This should work fine right?
Do we know yet if this is only an Epox 8RDA and Abit NF7 issue? Will HyperX go past 180 on an A7N8X, Soltek SL-75FRN2-L, and any other nforce2 motherboard?
its with all of them. The problem seems to be with the new Crush18D chip.

I have the A1/C1 stepping on my 8RDA+ and my memory runs at 215 like it is now and will run at 220. I have hyperx 3500. I heard on one of the forums that kingston is using different chips on their hyperx series. I wonder if this is true and if it is if that is part of the problem. I have not tried my memory in dual mode because I only have one 512mb module.
Thats because you are only running one stick...as soon as you put a second in there to run dual mode it will not even boot. You'll have to run @ or below 180 mhz fsb.Quote:
