It isn't being enforced in the US either. It is still wrong. Also, you were wrong in stating it was legal in Canada.

Morals have different degrees for different people. Debating them seems pointless and redundant... Maybe people who pirate are amoral? In that sense, you cannot say that it is wrong. Just because it is wrong to one person because they admit to passing judgment or making a moral distinction, does not mean that it is WRONG. I will admit that not everything is relative, but morals and ethics are very much so. So piracy is very much a gray area in the manner it is being discussed here... with regard to morals.
No one ever commits a crime planning on getting caught...but people commonly do get caught.

If you buy an AMD 2500+ and overclock it to 3200+ speeds you have just circumented the retail channel for a 3200+ part and therefore you have ripped off AMD for the difference between the cost of the 2 processors. It's all about something for nothing...
Overclocking ain't screwing anybody but copying your DVD is?-yeah right.
Just because overclocking is "popular" out in the open here, doesn't give the practice any higher moral ground.
There is a big difference. For one its likely any programmer working on the project is getting a fixed salery reguardless of how many copies are sold. Secondly piracy HELPS sales on occasion. If you put out a good product and your not screwing potential customers.Quote:

You overclocked it, you voided the warranty now live with the dead processor and buy a new one. :D
