What cell phone/service do you have?

I now live in a different town, different state, and so have a different cellular plan. I no longer work for an Alltel dealer, so the Alltel employee plan had to go too.

I live and work in the greater Philadelphia area, so almost ANY kind of cell phone will work reasonably well. (Relative to rural East Tennessee)

What I ended up with here is a Cingular share plan...49.99 for 800 day minutes, free nights/weekends, and free mobile to mobile. Not too bad.

Verizon has almost seamless coverage, but not nearly enough minutes for my fiance and I.

Our phones have been Motorola t720's. Their sound quality is OK, but their reception is problematic...at times they will randomly drop from full signal to no signal for no apparent reason.

Any recommendations? I'm thinking of T-Mobile $39.99 plan with 600 anytime minutes free nights/free weekends.

Have switched rom what I was originally using...now using Cingular with a Nokia 6010. Not so good with the "bonus" features, but the best RF out there and good battery life.

Just picked up a Motorola V551.

Sprint. Just picked up a Sanyo MM-7400.

I just got the motorola mpx 220 cell phone. Brand new and man is it cool. It's a computer, and fairly tiny.

Had Sprint, worked OK.
Switched to Verizon 2 years ago. Service is a lot better, but I hate they way they do their plans. My phone died 1.5 years into a 2yr contract. Too early to qualify for an upgrade so I had to pay full retail price for a phone. :mad: Replaced a POS Audiovox with an LG flip phone (forget the model # offhand) that is far better.

Nokia N-gage on T-Mobile.

No cell phone on no plan.... and I plan to keep it that way :)

I just ordered a SIM Free (unlocked) Motorola V635. It will ship Monday and arrive next week. I will most likely put it on the Cingular blue network, if I can. Otherwise it will go on the Cingular orange network.

*edit* The phone is great and full of features. Next week the 512MB Transflash card will be released. I'll order one then for ~$60. That will hold a few mp3's, photos and video clips.

Unfortunately, I had to put it on the Cingular orange network. :(

If you can wait, a subsidized V635 will be available in either a T-Mobile or Cingular store in the 3rd or 4th quarter.

Nokia 3560/Att&t now cingular, -my only complaint is that the store i go to (Victomville,Ca) sucks as far as service.. :(

where'd you order your phone from? what phone did you use before?

I just bought my new SANYO VM4500 and use the Sprint network and I've never had a problem with them, ever.

I didn't like the pictures online, so I took some myself.

I ordered from eXpansys in Chicago. They are a UK dealer. I can't recommend them for two reasons - they didn't ship when promised (missed by 3 days for an instock item) and they replaced the included Bluetooth headset with a wired headset and a UK to USA plug adapter. I had a variety of Nokia and Ericsson phones. this is the first Motorola phone I've had since the middle 80's brick and satchel phones. IIRC I started with Nokia in 1988 and pretty much stayed with them until now. I changed to Motorola because I needed a quad band phone for roaming, something Nokia does not make. The last time I traveled I needed a 900MHz and 1800MHz. All my Nokia had was the 1900MHz band in addition to the North American 800MHz and 1900MHz bands. if you travel you need all 4 bands and soon you'll also need the 2100MHz band in North America and the 2300MHz in Europe. Nobody makes a 6 band phone. I wish the USA and the EC could agree on common frequencies for something as basic as phone service. As it is now, one needs 2 or 3 phones with them when traveling.

Just picked up a Motorola i860. (Nextel)

Samsung i700 with Verizon - BTW PDA PHONE SUCK. It like holding a computer next to your face when your talking. Cancer City.

I use a Sharp 902sh (http://www.vodafone.jp/japanese/prod...del_3G/v902sh/) with Vodafone service.

For those that cant read japanese (me~), its a 3G worldwide phone, 2 megapixel camera, sharp aquos screen, bluetooth, etc~ its really nice.
