How many Ghz and how many CPUs do you have going serotone?
2 CPUs, my barton at 2.24 and an 1800+ pal for another 1.5 = ~3.75GHz. :) you?Quote:

My [email protected] (soon to be a 2500+ AQXEA 0331), and a 2500+@stock.Quote:

Roughly 3.8Ghz
I guess this explains why we have stayed in our spots ;)
i guess this should go back in the "how many GHz" thread, but i recently acquired my mom's 1.2Ghz tbird computer...so i now have 2Ghz of non-SSE AMD running (800mhz athlon, 1.2Ghz athlon) and 5.8Ghz of SSE AMD running (2.3Ghz 1800+, 1.9GHz 1800+, 1.6Ghz 1800+)....for a grand total of 7.8Ghz :D although the 800 and 1.2 won't be 24/7 folders
i figured we were pretty close in GHz. ;)Quote:

the old PII i bought for a firewall turned out to be in a pretty nice ATX case, and i actually have a 1600+ just sitting here doing nothing. i have been thinking about using that for folding, but the problem is i have no mobo or ram for it. i'd also have to reinstall gentoo, and i'm not sure i am up to that right now. maybe after the first of the year if i can find a cheap kt333 mobo or something and some ram. btwn any new nforces and athlon 64, people probably will be virtually giving older mobos away by then. :D
You need to get a board for that 1600+ or you will be left behind for good. I just got my server back together and will be installing the OS on it soon. It's a P3 800@900Mhz; it might not be much, but it might give me the ability to pull ahead of you for a good while. ;)Quote:

F@H has just claimed the life of my duallie G4 :(.
Crappy Mac hardware. Oh well, this'll just be the 4th time we've sent it back. Suppose I should take it off those other 2 G4's...
 what happened??? it just died?Quote:

Well, I closed down the 2 consoles so I could get some work done in Final Cut. Final cut half loaded then the icon turned into that annoying rainbow circle thingie and I got the ominous 'boop' (very low 'beep':p).Quote:

Rebooted the system and now the thing stalls with an icon in the centre of the screen switching between a folder and a question mark.
It's no biggie really, it's been a pain in the butt since we got the thing about a year and a half ago. Still got a year and a half of 'apple care' left for it so I'll give 'em a call tomorrow. I'd never jeopardise any of the centre's hardware (especially macs!) that wasn't under warranty. :)
Shut down the Folding consoles? Does the Mac version not release CPU cycles as quickly or easily as the PC version? I'll leave Folding going all the time. Even when watching a movie, gaming, burning CDs. Never had any problems with the main programs and Folding gives up CPU cycles willingly, so nothing is slowed down.Quote:

Bad enough I've got vertices charging down on me like a bull now this. Not to mention mu ohio and Daywalker seem to be eating at me as well. Got add more cpus. Gotta keep a top 5 slot on the team.Quote:

yeah ksuohio (mu_ohio) just passed me up today...he's haulin' up the charts....Daywalker was right on pace with him, and i bet he'll be catching back up to me shortly too
This dual G4 is so temperamental, I don't like to give it any reason to go wrong. I though doing some hefty Final Cut Pro work involving 2 firewire devices and leaving a F@H core folding on both processors pushing my luck just a tad. :pQuote:

I was right on pace until I took a 3 day hunting trip where my laptop and AMD shut down. I'm back on track now - may hijack my parent's computer over the holiday weekend (2.2 GHz or so of T-bred).Quote:

I just want to stay in the top 10...
That's the problem with one massive thread stuff gets buried and lost. Again though we/you can start new threads in this forum related to folding. Since there won't be a Folding Forum we'll just have to take this one over.Quote:

No possibility of a Folding Forum? That's a damn shame... At SPCR, having a dedicated Folding forum has been very nice.
Perhaps if ya get enough requests from the folks here?
I don't really think it's necessary. As long as we have the thread for Folding problems and this one here we should be ok :)Quote:

I mean I petitioned Cat for one a DC forum and he said he didn't see the need yet. However, a top 100 team with a couple hundred members might be enough to change his vote
Yeah I was thinking down the road when we really start breaking into the top 200, with 200+ members, this thread could get a little crowded. Then, it might be time for a new forum.Quote:

We should be in the top 200 by next week easy. :)
