Got the board AFTER I read your warning. Anyway, my friend has told me that the problems I had with the mobo aren't that bad and rectifiable;) , I'll be sticking my 9800 Pro into it, when it's back, and try for a hi score:D .

Also the problem might be the 9700Pro :)

My 9700Pro didnt work with my KNXP.. So I sold it for a 9800Pro :) Not a single problem after...

I had problems running 3DMarks or gaming.. IT would crash, lockup, reboot, etc... The manual specifies a certain revision of video card and I was above what they recommended.. And it still didnt work...

So maybe you had the same problems?

Colossus, I'm happy to say that I've absolutely no problems at all. In fact, I ran 3DM2k1 more than a couple of times and no crash/lockouts/whatsoever.:D (FYI : scored about 162xx/no oc) Says something 'bout buying somethings blindly, just lucky I guess.:D :D . Tried a few games and it ran fine.:)

Not bad for a stock score :) I was scoring 18k when my video card was at stock and my cpu :)

MSI consumers have been reporting dead mobos, check out the MSI forum, AFTER flashing their bios. Didn't want to take the risk myself so I passed it over to my friend (who happen to be the guy who sold me the board) He has it in his shop as a demo gaming set (maybe I should charge him rental, what do you think?), he has flashed the bios and will be mounting the SLK900U for me as a favor (scared of damaging the cpu myself, it's FREAKIN' expensive!);) Which video card are you referring to when you score 18k? The 9700 Pro or the 9800 Pro? (I believe it the 9800 Pro):)

Yes with an 9800Pro I was at 18K completely stock :)

You should of done the mounting its almost impossible to damage the P4 core :) It has a nice hefty metal die to protect it :)

Remember now, I'm a newbie who's learning as much as I can.:) Besides, mounting the SLK900U is one heck of a pain, no instructions at all so I'm lost.:confused: The SLK800 on my Barton is much simplier!:) Actually managed to oc my Barton @ 215x10.5, 9800Pro@420/360 but couldn't post my score, am afraid the same thing may happen when I push my P4 rig.:(

P.S. respect your opinion as I think you've been quite reasonable with regards to nVidia/ATI debate. I was sorry to hear about your recent lost, I hope she's been laid to rest (the 9800Pro), after reading 'bout it, I decided not to push my baby too much!;)

I try to debate both sides of the ATI/nvidia.. I give my points and deal with both... I used to be called a nvidiot for whatever reason.

You could of just went to the website.. They list the instructions there... I was also suprised there was no instructions with the package... That was pretty poor IMO...

The P4 doesnt have the same problem IMO.. In regards to the instability of the CPU... I believe it was only for the Athlons...
