Let's not forget that if Eli Eli Oh went to SD he knew that he' probably sit on the bench that first year behind Flutey/Brees whereas NY almost but guaranteed he'd be a starter right off the bat. I think there are still SD fans that are bitter about getting "dissed" but I'm sure Rivers more then makes them forget about the "pain".
Seems like San Diego ended up with the better QB so far. Of course it's hard to tell this early on in their careers though. Most QB's look good when you have the greatest RB in the game (LT).

Not necessarily. Brees had not been very good at all up to that point. He only became a good QB after Rivers was on the team. To put it in perspective, he was bad enough that they took Rivers in the first round only two years after they had taken Brees in the 2nd.Quote:

Brees hadn't panned out up till that point as they had hoped, which is why they wanted another QB. The Chargers never had the intention to guarantee a start to which ever QB they ended up drafting. What made the point even more mute was the fact that Rivers played hardball w/ the contract negotiations so he sat out for all of the preseason and essentially giving the starting job to Brees.Quote:

Let's not forget that Eli Eli Oh has a stud RB of his own in Tiki. Sure Rivers has LT, but Tiki isn't exactly a bum.
Let's compare:
SD has Gates - NY has Shockey
SD has LT - NY has Tiki
SD has decent WR's - NY has Plax
Both QB's are surrounded by talent, so which QB has the higher ratings? Well that's a rhetorical question.
SD has bum WR's... mccardell is too old, he's more of a 5 -10 yard possession receiver, parker is the only 'OK' receiver and thats cause he has wheels... they need a decent wideout, they should go after a big name guy.... a chad johnson, a randy moss (ok maybe not the crybaby), a boldin/fitz.... they need a #1 guy to take the pressure off LT, they sell the run extremely well because of LT - they need a wideout for play action.

Every game that I watch it seems as though Eli does well, but his recievers simply suck. They run wrong routs, bad communication, and drop a LOT of passes. A Lot of passes I say. Plax drops a lot of passes all the time. maybe its not his fault though, maybe its Eli's, I do not know. But it sure looks like Plax has some butterfingers.
