you make a valid point, but with alex smith still learning the ropes and a not so good receiving corps they will have to rely heavily on the running game which means LOTS of touches for gore...Quote:

Didnt they lose Brandon Lloyd also? Don't know if it was due to free agency or trade.
I am actually somewhat timid on picking peyton manning this year (fantasy league). Without a dominate RB, defenses will focus more on the pass and be ready.
On the other hand, keep your eye out on Daunte. He is going to be my sleeper. Dude looked like a beast during the preseason (so did joey harrington ironically). HAHA Detroit(pac10 fan here) :p . Miami always had WR's, but this year they got someone who can throw the long ball.
yeah they traded him for a 3rd rnd pick and a 4th in next years draft, hes not that good anyway...
Peyton - he has rhodes and addai, i'm not at all worried about it, when he went for the record for TD's in a season they knew he was going to pass a lot and still couldnt stop him, he's the best QB in the NFL right now - i wouldn't worry a bit.
he's a middle 2nd/early 3rd rnd pick though - some guy grabbed him with the #2 pick in the 1st round of our draft - goon! that left me to choose between LT and shaun alexander, I grabbed LT.
Cant go wrong with either of them. If anything, LT is a little more consistent than Alexander. It seems that Alexander was only good because of contract years. 2 years ago, he had a record to go for and he was at the end of his contract. IIRC, they signed a 1 year deal (last year). Now they locked him for x amount for y amount of years.
Plus the superbowl runner up usually sucks the following year. Seattle still looks solid though.
I'd still like to see Harrington put a successful career together, I guess because he's a northwest kid.Quote:

:D Well, he should start small, of course.Quote:

Gah, didn't get to see it, but apparently the Ravens looked really bad tonight, at least on offense. McNair was apparently so bad that some fans are wanting Boller to start again.
dude, thats bad.... thats really unfortunate cause mcnair is a good guy, and he is reunited with mason.... wow...
Can we not talk about that?Quote:

Apperently, Deion Branch is asking NE to trade him away. Mortensen thinks there are three teams targeted by Branch: Denver, Philly, Seattle.
We have cap space, holy crap do I want Seattle to go after this. He'd be the final piece, imo.
Jackson
Branch
Engram
Burleson
Hackett.
Not the best wr rotation EVAR or anything, but with Alexander's running game to worry about anything would be possible.
Denver could definately use him as a solid #3 reciever, but I think Seattle has a better chance of getting him.
I don't think he'll actually be traded. I had been thinking for a while that something didn't seem right about the situation; putting out a notice that they're letting a guy shop himself around for a week didn't seem like a Patriots kind of act. I heard a theory on the radio today that I think matched up exactly with what I had been thinking, but not really able to put into words - Branch was probably asking for too much, so the Patriots are letting him go find out what he can get elsewhere. Then, when he doesn't get offered as much as he thought he would, he'll come crawling back to Belichick. A risky move, especially if he does get some big contract offers.
He might get some substantial offers, too. I was thinking he'd most likely end up with the Eagles, but we'll see. How's Denver's cap situation Snake? Last I heard the Hawks have about 10M to play with--though I think we may need to buy a CB with that money instead. Lined up at the other corner opposing Trufant will either be Kelly Herndon or rookie Kelly Jennings. Not that reassuring imo, Herndon gets burned a lot.
Forgot a part of the theory - whatever he's offered elsewhere, I bet New England will probably match. Kind of a "go find what you're worth and we'll pay it" deal. Unless it gets TOO steep, of course. You might see a situation in which some teams bid up his price just to try to get the Patriots to pay him more, and if they get stuck with him, oh well.Quote:

if he went anywhere it would be the eagles..... they need a #1 guy, denver has both rod smith and javon walker - they wouldnt be able to use deion.... but i agree it's a rouse, deion wont find a trade and will go back to work for NE
I don't think it's necessarily that he won't find a trade offer, I think it's that he'll find the offer, go back to the Pats with what the other team is offering as far as a new contract, then the Pats will match the contract. I haven't followed the situation too closely, but I don't think he necessarily wants out of NE, he just wants more money (unlike, say, Lelie or Javon Walker, who were pretty vocal in wanting to leave their teams after a while).Quote:
