That's pretty much my viewpoint. No different from the Fallout 3 vs Fallout 2 comparisons from a few years ago. I figure that was an even bigger age difference.

same.. im 29 and i think i spent 6+ hrs a day playing C:S during the Diablo heyday.. never got a chance to check it out
I'm 25 and computer couldn't run D2 at the time and no solid internet access, but have a bunch of friends that played the hell out of it. By the time I had those things, my mind was on City of Heroes and a few other games.
On a side note, I played most of the Starter Pass with a Monk tonight and enjoyed it thoroughly. I may actually pick this one up (or at least play through the starter pass with some other characters).
Just got to Level 10 as Demon Hunter. Freaking awesome. I just walk around dual-wielding machine gun crossbows. pew pew pew
I just blew through act 3 (normal) last night, I think my brother and I were a bit over leveled and over geared, we took down all the bosses in under a min. Always tons of fun tho, my wizard is amusing with his dual disintegration beam!
My group just got to Act 3 last night. I <3 the game.
My three friends IRL that play the game (from three different groups of people, they don't know each other) all made Monks. :D
Still don't agree. Lots of younger people played Diablo 2, as a few posters in this thread have shown. I was already well into the swing of playing PC games on my Commodore 64 when I was like 3 years old, and was playing the hell out of stuff like Warcraft 2 when I was about 12. People playing Diablo 2 at age 12 would only be 24 by now, and there were surely plenty of people that started playing at that age years after launch. The Diablo Battle Chest STILL sells for $29.99 or so, and the number of sales they're getting to support that price point all these years later isn't only coming from 30 year olds.
Hell, you even likely have a fairly sizeable group of people that were playing D2 in their early 20s that now have kids in their mid- to low-teens that were introduced to D2 very early while their parents were playing it.
I love my monk. :D
Yeah, especially considering the fact that Diablo 2 is still highly-regarded and heavily-played, it is a mistake to think that any fan of the game is near his 30's. I was originally going to argue that I'm not 30 and I played D2 when it first came out and then I remembered I'm almost 28. XD
ha ha, i was 20 when d1 came out:)
I think we're getting old, I had to think about my age as well. I couldn't remember if I was 27 or 28, lol. :)Quote:
...and then I remembered I'm almost 28.
Not any, just most. Realistically, if you played Diablo the year it came out you'd have to be at least 22 now (assuming you were 12 then).
Plenty of people probably didn't pick up the game until years after. Some people probably started playing D2 just a few years ago. But the 18-24 demo that the game originally targeted is now near 30. That's all.
I'm 22, I remember playing D2 as a little kid as well. No longer little.
Level 37 and I didn't even know this. You can go into options and choose Elective Mode if you want to customize your talent builds. Makes things more interesting.
We have a new cow level, and its name is Whimsyshire
This is my current build:
