Thanks Shark. :D There's one thing I forgot though... temps were taken at 23C ambient temp. :)
Good luck for anyone trying to knock me off the list :)
I wont be benchmarking until a few months.. I just started my CCNA classes today and it will take a lot of my time at home and during classes and then work on top of that... So I might just finally upload my piss poor 21K score and just be done with it.. I did want to do more before submitting it :(
You'll find the time. I gotta get my CCNA as well soon. My new boss wants me to get it.:)Quote:

Man I love linux with its Command prompt.. But the CLI in Cisco is complex...
EDIT:
It also doesnt help I dont have a Cisco router at home to play around with... So I am looking into a decent simulator..
Yeah I picked up a 2507 for free to practice on.:) I haven't really started yet. I just got my MCSE a little bit ago.:)Quote:

That is another thing I want to do.. Is take the MCSE over to get 2000 certified instead of 4.0...
I was thinking about waiting for the 2003 cert if there is going to be one :)
ohhh a 2507... what kind of ports are on the back of it? How did you get it for free? :)
Yeah I got my 2K cert, plus MCSA 2K and MCDBA 2K. I'm gonna take the 2 test upgrade to 2003 soon.:) Yes there will be one. Kind of sux since they are so much the same. Thats probably why the upgrade from 2K to 2K3 is only 2 tests compared to the 4 you had to take to go from NT4.0 to 2K.
The 2507 is an old 10mbit device. It's a router/hub combined. It was sort of the standard router everyone was using to learn on. It's got 2 serial ports, 16 ethernet ports, and a console and an aux port. I need to get the adapter though to go from the RJ45 console to a serial port on my PC.
I got it for free from my current (almost over) job. I was over at UNICOR Federal Prison Industries (Computer Recycling Division) and they had a ton of Cisco stuff. I asked a guy I know over there how much to buy one and he gave it to me for free.:)
You can get these pretty cheap on Ebay now. Like $100 tested working WITH the console adapter and a guarantee against DOA.
I didnt know you worked for the Federal Prison Industries... Did you get to enter Max Security facilities? :) :)
I assume they supply the computer equipment to the federal facilities and install them?
If I was going to buy one I was thinking about the 3600 with the 4 multi bays in the back...
I remember tossing an older 2500 series router out back a few years ago... Just the router not a combo router/hub... But man, I should of kept it... Sigh oh well... Didnt know I was going into Cisco then...
I only have a handful of certs :(
Networking+, CNA, MCSE +Internet and MCP :D :D
I will probably move to a CCNP after my CCNA... Depending on how much more is involved... I dont think I will go for a CCIE... But you never know :D
I didn't work for them, the company I work for was doing a 5 million dollar deal with them that fell through.
Yeah I did get to go in the Max security prison. 65% of the population were lifers. It was sort of weird being in there. I had guards with me where ever I went. UNICOR is where the prisoners work. They supply jobs to the inmates and have a facility INSIDE the prison where the inmates go to work. The inmates break down all old computers, monitors, printers, anything like that and prepare it to be recycled. I had to go in there and do a bunch of stuff. It was definitely an experience to look at 100 people working and know that most them are never EVER going anywhere.
Those are decent certs you have.:) I also have my A+ and MCP but didn't list them b4.:)
I'm gonna get Network+ just because I studied for it b4 and it looks easy after everything else. Then I'm on to the CCNA.:)
Yeah my new boss is CCNP and is going for his CCIE soon. The man is damn knowledgeable.:)
That is cool... I dont know if I want to be a stict Cisco admin.. I like having a decent amount of knowledge of everything and a master of none :D :D :D
j/k
But I wish I did take the upgrade exam when it was available....
The networking+ exam IMO was cake... I never did take my A+ since I never felt I needed it.. It is sorta a Tier 1 support cert.. So I havent had to back track for such a cert..
I do have some new equipment to get installed... But I will benchmark again when the Epox releases their model over to the USA.. Got to love a vdimm selection of 3.2v
And by then I should have a prommie.. Well hopefully :D
EDIT:
I dont know if I could work next to a bunch of inmates.. I know that those lifers have nothing to lose.. So what if they kill a guard or another inmate.. What are they going to do add an extra 50 years to his/hers 100+ years???? Gee...
I was only in there for a couple of hours each day over a couple of days. And I wasn't really alongside them. I had a minimum of 3 guards around me at all times.
They are pretty damn well behaved too. I noticed that they wouldn't make direct eye contact with me. When I was walking with some guards over to the facility through the courtyard (yes the wideopen courtyard like you see in movies) it was my natural reaction to look at someone and kind of nod my head like "what's up?". But I noticed they averted their eyes and didn't even look at me. I got the feeling they get in serious trouble for doing anything odd.
A+ is still a good thing to have. There are plenty of SAs out there that can't do squat to fix a PC that won't boot or whatever.
I was talking to some other people and they all said they would hire an MCSE with A+ way before an MCSE without it. They said that it gives them a feeling that you really know everything all the way down to the basics.:)
I did get that cert a long time ago though. It was my first cert.:)
I'm not gettin a prommy till maybe next year. I'll make due with my ice water when I have to.:D:D
Hmmm... That is interesting...
I guess I can take the $100 test :D (or whatever the price is now)... Its not like I would probably have to study for it.. Well except if they start to hit me with odd ball things :D You know the kind of questions that will never happen IRL :D
I know some SA's that are very handy with hardware and basic troubleshooting and some that will discover the problem but take way to many steps in getting to the problem.. Such as swap memory when it is obvious to an expert that its not a memory related problem :D :D
I dont think I will get the prommy soon... But maybe in a few months.. I might just shoot for a Mach 2 complete setup :)
You definitely will have to study for it a little bit. They ask some pretty off the wall questions. Some Braindumps and a quick glance through a study guide and you'd be fine though.:)Quote:

Yeah when I do get a prommy I'm gonna get the MachII version. Hopefullly it will be a bit cheaper by the time I get it.:)
Thanks... I think I have an A+ cram exam somewhere around here from years ago!!!
I dont think I would need to get another book.. It should still be basically the same.. With some added components, I guess..
Got my XMS 4000 in today. I've been doing a CRAP load of benchmarking and preparing an IN DEPTH review of this ram and comparing it to XMS PC3500.
Don't ask me for the results yet, the review will be up no later than Friday.;):)
The results have been interesting and a bit surprising.:)
So what are the results? ;) :p
im thinking of doing a real review on overclocked 2.4C on a 865p and 875p (same settings difference chipset).. but ionno.. i want to do original reviews, reviews on other things us overclockers wonder.. like i know i read how people wonder how intel dividers effect their preformance and single channel vs dual channel too thats why i did a review on it, not only for my self but for others to know, please help me think of ideas..
I'm currently writing up a review of a P4 2.4B CPU on a 533MHZ platform compared to a P4 2.4C on a 800MHz FSB platform... Should be interesting hopefully. :)
Ok I am back in the game. I just published a score of 20302. I was running my new 9800p at 432/371 and had my fsb at 265. Does this mean I get the number 6 & 7 slots on the team since I used 2 different cards to do this? Either way, I am gonna make a move for number 5 before the nights out :D

lol..no you don't get 2 spots.:) Only 1 per person.Quote:

If you get a score you want me to update just put it here in the proper format.:)
Ok fair enough I will just have to be happy with one score posted ;) I think I will stick with my 9700p score until I break back into the top 5. That score with a 9700p is much more impressive IMO :D
You got PM.:)Quote:
