Plus now we have to change all of the "To forest fire" signs. :p
I didn't see any chunk errors yesterday after the update. :)
I read something suggesting monsters won't wander into water anymore. Did not seem to be the case for me, I hope it's not a "fix" that just hasn't made it into multiplayer yet. :eek:
Multiplayer beds are weird, since one AFK (or non-sleepy) person can "ruin" it for everyone else.
Sorry, I guess I wasn't really clear.
- Before when I would dump water in/near lava, at most 2-4 blocks would transition to obsidian.
- Now dropping water onto a lava block always turns that block into water, and all adjacent blocks into obsidian. Dropping water onto a solid block and letting it "flow" over the lava results in all blocks it touches turning to obsidian.
- Previously when I tried that, it was really hit or miss, and sometimes I would end up with cobblestone blocks instead of obsidian, etc.
Harvesting obsidian takes just as long as ever, and I probably won't create anymore of it. I was just taken with how well it works now.
I am just assuming that this was part of some code update, because it's much "cleaner" now than it used to be. Keep in mind the last time I farmed some obsidian was before the Beta launch.
I never had any trouble farming obsidian pre-beta; I just lined up the lava source blocks and poured water over them and everything changed over just fine.
Previously, though, only lava source blocks would become obsidian, and any other flows of lava turned to cobblestone. Your description sounds like it's been changed such that even the flows turn into obsidian now.
Aaaaargh Minecraft.net has been down all day for me!
::edit::
Also, fyi James, the map isn't updating anymore.

Yeah, looks like the update finally takes advantage of the new block types. :)
Interestingly, our spawn point moved, and is now over somewhere between the barn and monroeski's lava/water falls (this is reflected on the big map). :eek:
I have no idea how or when or why it happened, but I took the opportunity to fix some of those holes in the sand that were previously unfixable due to being too close to spawn. :)
Can't view the map from this computer, but I imagine it's somewhere under the forest you planted, just to make sure we spawn with a bunch of zombies right in our faces from now on whether it's day or night.
