anyways, Ace i will PM you about AMXMods...there are some pretty cool ones on there if you wanna make the server a fun server instead of a serious one
I have access to 4 servers....3 running BF 1942 and one Running EOD
2 Are public servers named Wisconson Death Trip, and BuckToof Gamers, Wisconson Death trip is the better of the 2 servers, not for hardware or ping but because of the quality of players we get...it also seems to be dead right now heh =)
1 Is a practice server which I can loan out from time to time for scrims/matches, but mostly it stays locked on the map we expect to play for the next match
1 Recently named "the Ghetto" is set up for EOD, but we may change that in the future.
So theres no need for you guys to throw up a BF server, I feel I have that covered...unless your going DC

the point was kinda for it to be a Sharky Community server and i dont think your clan would like it if you changed the server name :p
anyways, i dont know what other games people would want, maybe a Halo server, and a Call of Duty server? i dont know, lemme know guys

I would kinda like to keep this a some what serious server while keeping all the fun in it. kinda like a fun*serious/2 type of thing :D
not sure if this helps but for xmas i plan on building my first server. here is the part list...
processor (2 chips)-amd
mobo - gigabyte
memory (2 sticks if the money is there) - crucial
HD - western digital
i know its not the best but its my first...ill probably get an ati 9200 for video and im set. tell me what you think. if i get this going ill dedicate COD.

for 2 what kinda connection do you have? You are going to need alot of upload to host a server :/
for 3 a old 8mb rage would work if the server is going to be dedicated. You dont need a good gfx card to disply text :D.
Sorry if i offended you but just kinda giving you the heads up before you spend the money on something like this.
Something else you could do is buy a P4 HT system :D. Cheap Mobo and a 2.4ghz p4HT. It would be alot faster than them 1.2s :/.

2. im not sure what connection is needed for a game server but my connection is good but i dont know if its what you guys are looking for. i have the 3.0 mb up plan
3. the 9200 is like $60. thats damn cheap to me considering i paid 2 hundred and something for 9700. reason why i picked that one because i wasnt sure if something that old will have problems with some newer programs. i had a tnt2 before i upgraded to 9700pro and let me tell you...well i wont cause it was hell. i dont take offense to this because it was a reasonable suggestion. its just that im new and a college student so the funds wont be here until after i graduate. if there is something there that is better and roughly the same price than yeah ill switch it out. keep the suggestions coming.
