yolner or whatever his name is, is obviously just a troll who throws in the term "carebear" every now and then to try and get a rise out of someone, no one should pay attention. He obviously hasn't played any new MMOs, lol.
But yeah, WoW is really easy when you know how to level right. If I tried I could get 60 in a couple weeks. Not sure how much that would equate to actual play time though.
True, but in the post it also seemed like he was apart of beta. Regardless, I'm still going to try it out for myself, even if Brad McQuaid says it sucks (which I doubt he will, although him going to SoE might be an indication :D).Quote:
I think thats what he wants you to do. If somone says "my beloved SOE" in a sentence, take what they say with a grain of salt.
Yeah I havent played any new mmos except WOW, SWG, COH, GW and almost every other mmo released in the last few years.Quote:

lol, I'd probaly try EVE if my computer wasn't restarting randomly. As it goes now, I can't play any MMO. I don't have the security knowing that my computer will constantly be on. When all I'm thinking about is my computer rebooting, I can't enjoy myself.Quote:

We all find enjoyment out of games in different ways. Just for the record though, I did play WoW PvP. But that version is more like FPS meets MMO.. you die, than respawn with no repercussions (except lost time). You don't even get an armor hit like you would from a normal mob NPC.
Lol I guess you are talking about EVE. I am just going to let my trial run out on that game. It takes far too long to get anywhere and once your there you have to go some where else 8 jumps away.Quote:

Really the only diffences is what you starting ship is going to be and what areas are already going to be boosted a little but you can raise everything up fairly easily.
Hope that helps out. The hardest thing will be getting the books for the other races ships. That might take some time but really the extra time spent reading those book up is like 20-40 hours and if you find some friends on like chance are you can get those missing books pretty easily I know I did. Just some food for though.
I'm sorry man but its the truth. Vanguard is unfun, broken and suffers from terrible design decisions.
Now they are literally asking the beta players what they want out of the game.
Their feedback forums is basically a form setup for players to write quests and the like.
Its just... /blah.
I was actually excited for it as well since I've played EQ2 for almost two years and done all there is to do basically and I wanted a breath of fresh air more catered to my playstyle.
Let me just say that Vanguard, in its current beta state after years of development, is sorely lacking.
It has a lot of core systems that don't even work, classes that aren't even implemented - and as I said before design decisions and core mechanics that plain aren't fun.
I'm a hardcore MMO raider too, about 40 hours a week or so depending. I love camping, I love a challenge, I love grinding - and I still hate Vanguard.
They have a long way to go to perfection.
If you thought EQ2 sucked during beta or early live - well lol, you haven't seen anything yet if they release Vanguard anytime soon.
It wouldn't matter either way as him playing EQ, EQ2 or Vanguard = money for SOE.Quote:

I say it sucks because it sucks.

Well I found this "Science and Technology Institute" (I'm a Caldari Achura btw) and its basically a big library. After I got a bunch of my learning skills, I went there and stocked up. Now I have a bunch of skillbooks I train in 15 minutes.
You are pretty much the exception though, pre LU13 Guardians were the only tank class worth playing as a tank, but the others fighters either top DPS or could solo most non epic content. Templars were the only healer worth playing and every other class in the game, all 17 of them game had no role to speak of and had to scrape by soloing or on charity. This lead to the breakdown of grouping and problems scaling content difficulty properly. With the major balance issues out of the way they have been able to revamp all the major dungeons which has made them a lot more fun.Quote:
