Dimmy, on the last page (page 6), what the hell was that animal in the first pic? Looked like a cross between a whale and a hawk!

It is indeed the majestic great Blue heron. They're awesome birds. Very skittish and shy...they fly away easily.
TY.. I have very little camera experience with my DSLR. I use maybe 1/100 of the features as I have no idea how to get the shot I want. Mostly use Auto with or without flash..
Oh well it was a nice picture and the glass walls made it more interesting in getting a decent picture as it reflects the flash.

fish are hard to shoot - they dont stay still, the glass reflects the flash.
these guys are about an inch long in total if that.
These shots were taken 6 February 2010 in Guatemala on the Rio Dulce where life is primitive.
