Think? Bah what good does that do, I know we can! :D
can you guys tell me if i can have this running for my username under the computer im on now, and another one, and they will be working on different things. to get mroe work done? also could i open another client on this same computer and it gets a different job??
Absolutely. All of us with more than one cpu are using our same username and 34149.
BTW my beta 3.25 just auto DL'd the new 1.54 Gromacs Core as I was just using the 1.51. It seems to have cut my frame time by 10-15 seconds per frame which is rather noticeable. I'll have to let this thing hit 100% folding to be sure though
well i only have two comptuers, and if i just run this on the other one, will it pick a different one automaticly? and if i haev only one processor on this computer, could i run another instance of the application and have it working on a different protene(sp)?
you could run two instances on one computer, but unless you have a P4 with HT (or a dually) it won't do you any good.
The EOC stats are down again. I wonder how long it will take to "fix some code"?
Yes, run it on every computer that you can get your hands on -- use your user name and team 34149 -- more computers running F@H = a good thing. :D It will select a diffent job, although that could be a different simulation of the same protein because they run many simulations on each protein.Quote:

If you do have a P4 with hyperthreading, running two consoles is possible and is about 15% more efficient, and each console runs a different job.
Right now I have it on 5 computers at home(if you count my daughter's 850 Duron as 1!) and 3 at work!
sweeet, how do you think a 244mhz computer will run? i also have my other p4 that im not sure if it has malti threading or not... its a 1.8 or soemthinglike that last year or so...
Your 1.8ghz won't have Hyperthreading. But it'll get the SSE boost, so that's something good. :DQuote:

The 244mhz system might have problems making the WU deadline at times. I ran Folding on my K6-266 for awhile, and remember it missing a couple deadlines. Its been awhile, but I think my P2-300 made deadlines, but took ~80% of the allotted time.Quote:

Is the extra one or two WU a month worth the extra on the electricity bill?
definitely, because we want to conquer. :p :DQuote:

seriously, if the machine would be on anyway, i say load it up. if not, it's probably not worth it. :)
Well, I do agree with that bit. Personally I'd like to see a system doing at least 50 PPW to be considered 'worth it'.Quote:

not on the current topic here....but in setting up FAHStats again....nothing seems to be working for me...right now i just have my main system listed as a client, but NONE of the links/options in the left pane work except the settings one...The detailed stats (including any client listed under it), and the web stats links, do absolutely nothing but give me a blank screen in the right pane, and the links for welcome, overview, summary, current projects, help, and about give me an error like below:
(in this particular case it's when i try to access the summary link)
"Cannot open file: C:\Program Files\F@HStats\templates\default\client.summary.common.html"
and along with that error message i get a "the page cannot be displayed error" in the right pane
what the heck is going on?
Sounds like something got goobered on install. Does that file actually exist? FAH Stats has various templates, and its Explorer and HTML driven.
If ya can't figger it out, check with the author, Buzzard. He's been moderately active at Folding-Community in this thread about the .70 release.
as far as the install goes, i just need to unzip it into a directory i choose, correct?
can you open the pages in your browser if you click on them from the folder?
yes, but most of them are blank and just have a little "last updated on...." near the topQuote:

we should probably take this over to the problems thread. are you sure your network connections are still up, don't need passwords entered again, or anything like that?Quote:
