hey, thanks for the link to the folding community thread, buzzard just happened to be active at this time and hooked me up with a self extracting file, and i'm up and running now. :cool:

aparently winzip wasn't decompressing everything correctly, i had no directory structure whatsoever, so the program had no idea where to look for anything

Nah, gotta stick true with my Silent Computing folks. For me its all about keeping 'em quiet. Three systems going here at home, and can only hear them later in the evening when the ambient noise drops.

But overall, I'm more thrilled about the project than the teams. Like other folks doing this, I've had friends and family directly affected by cancer, Parkinson's, Alzheimer's.

Oh, and once you guys make the top 100, then you can use Dyyryath's Stats Page as well.

BTW my beta 3.25 just auto DL'd the new 1.54 Gromacs Core as I was just using the 1.51. It seems to have cut my frame time by 10-15 seconds per frame which is rather noticeable. I'll have to let this thing hit 100% folding to be sure though

I have been using the 1.54 core and it is slower then the 1.53 core I was using, so when I get finished with The WU I`m working on now, I`m going to replace it with the 1.53 core. Edit to update, I found the problem was not the core but some how the cpu usage was set at 70%.:(

I shut down all the folders in the house last night - had people over and it was getting really hot! Then I started dropping WU's right and left which I thought was wierd. AMD wouldn't POST this morning when I started everything else back up - need to play with my OC I think.

Looks like I didn't fall too far behind.

A quick update with some good news on my situation: Hopefully my DSL will be up tonight or tomorrow, which means I can turn in 3 WU's and get started on some more. I hope my 1800+ and 2000+ we kept folding at my parents house this whole time!

edit: Man, I've really fallen in the rankings. I was normally 29-31, now I'm in 37th:( I have some work to do..

Yeah, tonight or tomorrow it should. Stargate got bought out by Earthlink, so they had to switch everyone over. After talking to them for 2 hours and screaming my head off at a few guys, I ended up getting 2 months free once it gets back up :D

I didn't have a choice, there was a series of power failures here. Ended up dropping a few WU, but everything seems to be up and running fine now...

I hope....:confused:

Never happened before out of 19 WU's?.. It was running stock too :mad:

i wouldn't worry about it, computers aren't perfect...sounds like it's not too regular, but i'd watch it and see if it happens again..:confused: :)

Hasn't done it since :confused: and I gained like 5 spots today anyway lol

Me and smythe have almost the same exact same rate of gaining of points so it's getting kinda hard to shake em off.

Geez, people been passing me up left and right. Finally got this comp back together after a long hiatus in pieces. Hopefully that'll boost my production up some :)

I'm using folding as a stability tester atm for it, is the only time I will know that my cpu is unstable when it turns WUs in? Or does it do something else?

if your OC is unstable i'd guess it would probably do something like lock up the folding program or crash the WU you're working on before getting to 100%. you could scroll through your log file to check and make sure all your WUs are getting to 100.

if i'm unstable then folding will usually cause my rig to lock up...i've never had the lost WU problems that some of you have had (or at least, none that i've found in the logs). however, you can check your log file like serotone said....if you're getting WU's that are aborted before they reach 100% completion, then you're probably unstable....on rare ocassion there are some WU's that are aborted, even if your system is stable (see this link), but if it's recurring then i'd back down on the O/C a little

probably only because the stats have been down for a bit again, and they have to restabilize...but still, we should be in the yellow, so....conquer on!! ;)

grr, all of a sudden http://folding.extremeoverclocking.com is blocked on my school's network

this sucks, i can't check the team stats at school, statsman is still cool but it doesn't get much better than EOC's stats page

edit: sharkyforums is blocked too, but sharkyextreme isn't :confused:
