Vertices, I'm done benching for the time being:) . I've gone higher than I'd thought possible (my rig can't go any higher), so it's time for some serious gaming!:D I'll have to wait for the new Zalman HSF to hit my shore before trying anything new;) , will look around for a good NB cooler (though choices are few and far between over here:mad: ) No time to do anything now as I'll be quite busy with work. Will be away for a short break from 15-17 June. Gonna have me some REAL fun;) .

I don't know how you can get that close and take a break.:) I couldn't do that.
If you wanna break 20K do this.
Run the tests in this order:
1. Nature
2. Dragothic
3. Lobby
4. Car
Dragothic and Lobby get worse scores on the second run, so only run them once. Nature and Car do not get worse on the second run.
Therefore, run them all once in that order. Then at the end, save your project so you can upload it later. Then run Car again and see if your score goes up, if it does, save the project again with a different name. Now run car again and save the project each time your score is higher and keep doing this till you max out.
The thing is, on Car test you sometimes get a bum run for no reason. In fact you often do. This way you can ensure your score is with a good Car run.
I discovered this trick and it often works to snag you up to 50-100 more points.:)

Yeah, I know.:( My rig simply refuses to proceed:mad: I keep getting dump out during the 2nd/3rd test:mad: . No way round it as I'm getting artifacting, @221x11 (ran OK at 220x11), no amount of coaxing, tweaking (Hell! I even tried sweet-talking to 'her' but she statefastly refused to let me go any further!:mad: OMG, THAT didn't come out right:o ) When I've changed my NB and mount the Zalman, 20k here I come!:D Actually I'm just happy to be part of the team and in top 5!;) :)Quote:

Decided to clock my card up to 355mhz core, and 330mhz memory.. and just do a "dumb run" at 3.5GHz... and I scored 18727! hahah... that's insane.. I wouldve NEVER EVER VER thought I could score that high. And thats with the old cat drivers.... software urnning in the background.. and an old windows installation... wait till i tweak this sucka! I would LOVEEE 20k out of a 9700PRO! :D
You can do it!:) I first broke 20K with an i845PE board at 3.485 ghz and a 9700pro.Quote:

well, my card is essentially an 8500, and my score is higher than any of the 8500s in the database, too.

Hey Vertices, I'm gonna make a try for 20k again (you were right, I can't let it go just like that;) ) A coupla questions : what should I use , dx 8.1 or 9.0a? Cat 3.4 or 3.5? What causes my system to reboot when I'm running the test? Could voltage increase for cpu make it stable? Conversely could I hurt the cpu by increasing voltage too much? Is my ram timing too agressive (5,3,2,2)? And always the problem of not being able to post results due to 'cpu speed variation':mad: Thanks!:)
mikeysg. have you checked out Pyro`s 3D Mark Guide, if not click on the link in my Sig. it might have some tips that might help you get a better score.
