Do you like the temps on my Processor and 9800Pro core????

It was cooled with a special device :D But still air cooled :D :D
F1 Temps = CPU Core
F2 Temps = GPU Core

Umm no... Now way a deskfan would take my ambient temps that low :DQuote:

Ooh! An air conditioner! (or an open fridge, if you're an idiot :D).Quote:

Btw - a deskfan wouldn't lower ambient temps, but you can bet a 500 CFM blowing at your mobo from a foot away would kick ***... I saw a desk fan on sale at Future Shop a couple weeks back for $42 - it was so strong you had to wince and it felt like you were in a car going 140kph!
EDIT: Check your PM's. The news is better than you thought. :)
Personally no, not liking those temps at all.:) I'd be worried by now and trying to figure out what went wrong.:D:D:D
I got a little higher score, the only differance is the video card clocks 306/635, got a 70 point increase by raising the core by 1mhz and the memory by 5mhz. Heres the link http://service.futuremark.com/compare?2k1=6874815 update when you get the time.
Hey vertices, you ask me and then you don't read the reply... :p Check your PM's!
:P Vert!!! Well you are running a pelt/water cooling, but for AIR those are amazing temps :D Remember is it F not C :D
However it is a A/C unit.. But not a window mount one.. Its a portable AC unit I picked up at costco.. Man are those expensive... I got tired of my office being so much hotter then the rest of the house... :D
So I am going to cool that room till there is no tomorrow... But boy does it get cold!!!!
Why not make a small funnel leading to a small brick of copper (or aluminium) which is attached to the core? Tadaa, a cheap (and relatively ineffective :)) phase change cooling system.Quote:

I dont want to be like you!!!! I dont want to use a block of aluminum or copper or even a ski sharpener... I was thinking about using a aluminum rim :D :D :DQuote:

ROFL
EDIT:
I want to be original :D
Ok, well, that aside... I just realized that what I said is total BS - it wouldn't be phase change, since nothing is changing phase :D. It would just be slightly enhanced air cooling (because of the funnel). :)Quote:

Really, the copper brick would be a heatsink and the AC would be a fan. No biggie. *slaps self* :o
:D
Well I was suprised I was able to take the memory to 383Mhz... That is amazing... Before it would slight artifact at 371..
I wonder if I should invest in ramsinks if just adding a super cold blowing wind can make that much of a difference on those little ram chips...
Even if I am getting a slight artifact at 383.. But I did notice that when the temp was at 65f for the GPU Core, I had little to zero memory artifacts.. When it started to get to 80f, it would be higher... (AC turns itself off to cool the compressor I guess :()
Plus I now have the core at 470 with little artifact.. Actually very little amounts over stock fans blowing ambient temps... I was actually quite suprised at the big difference...
I might have to step up finally to finish my water cooling setup instead of letting it collect dust :(
Bwahahaha, 470? My $3 aluminum brick can handle 473/398 with no artifacts, and 485/400 if the brick is at room temperature (overnight, after computer turned off for a long time, etc). :D :cool:Quote:

Btw, I've always wondered - do you have to cool both sides of the RAM chips, or just one side? RAMsinks, even GPU ones, are always by the 4 - is this just a way for them to make more money, or do you only have to cool one side?
Thanks,
Mike
That is odd.. Why is it you can get better temps with the block at room temp over maybe it being cooler?
I would cool both sides... You dont want to damage half the board :D I always cool both sides (I use 3 fans to cool my video card, cpu with the AC unit... Since I can blow the cold air blowing in upwards toward the core and mem, and a fan to blow downwards onto the topside of the board so I can cool the ram and backside of the GPU...
EDIT:
Yeah yeah yeah, I know your cards is a very good overclocker... blah blah blah :D
Boy three pages of chat since I was last on here. Nice job C :D You know I am gonna have to crush that score though. Just think, I am getting high 20's with my little old P4 at 3.2 Ghz. Wait till she runs at 3.5, then i'm gonna smack dat *ss  I am getting a new processor next week. I was gonna buy a 2.8C, but I am seriously considering buying another 2.4C and seeing if it will OC a little better. With a 2.4C @ 3.5 my bandwidth will be awesome and I should be able to break 21K easy. Oh well I had fun reading all your posts. I am glad to see the competition heating up :D
I can get better temps when it's room temperature than when it's being cooled because it's an ALUMINUM BRICK. It's got very little surface area, so the 3 pathetic 21CFM case fans blowing on it barely remove any heat. However, since it's so massive, it can hold a lot of heat. Therefore, if it's at room temperature, I can ramp up the core really high because the brick will absorb all the heat (at least for a while).Quote:

You bet my card's a good OCer - and I deserve it, too, with this Athlemon on my hands...
*lol*Quote:

I told you before that whatever tweaks you do are amazing... Since you are getting such a high score with a lower overall Mhz speed...
But I will tell you this, The 2.8c is nice if you are willing to push it hard... I noticed that I didnt get much of a return from my 2.4c to the 2.8c.. But then again I am vcore limited...
You can try to smack me down... I have quiet a few boards to give me that 1.85v option :D :D And they handle memory timing better then this Gigabyte with the F6k (BETA BIOS) :D
So lets see what you got!
EDIT:
Come on try 2003 :D :D I want to see someone come out (besides vert) with a 9800 series card beat almost 7k on air!!! That would take one serious overclocked card!
Speaking of which, xDuck why not run 2003 on that overclock? Its more GPU dependant then CPU.. So you would get a real kick arse score!
Hey Ranger - I'm sure you knew this was coming, but... What ARE your tweaks? Don't worry, with my Athlemon (yes that's my new term for it), I don't stand a chance of threating your spot, so you might as well tell me.
Either post here or PM me. Please. *begs*
I would like to know too :DQuote:

This post may be ignored, but I have a few questions, why is it that anyone who has good system but not a Topend system and tries to gets the most of his system ignored. I thought this was suppose to be a team effort, but its not. I like my system and try to get the most I can out of it, but it seems that the only thing that matters here now is someone who can get 20K or higher. I guess you need the lower class that don`t matter anymore just so you can have a larger membership. This was written by a person whose scores don`t mean a thing anymore. Rant over
I think all scores are great... Either it be 8k or 25k... Not everone has cutting edge technology or is willing to push hardware to the point of failure :)Quote:

I havent even touched my GF4 4400 or 4600 in months! I guess I like the higher numbers :) But for a GF4 4400 I got a nice score of 15.6k which I can probably do much more if I drop that into my Canterwood board setup :)
What makes you think your scores don't mean anything? :(Quote:

Hmmm <running and hiding my black book of tricks>:D :D For the most part I am juat using the stuff in pyros guide. I will go through everything I have done and try and put together some kind of guide for everybody. The one thing I know for sure is I am getting the best results out of the latest omega drivers. I also change the order on 3Dmark. I gain some very serious FPS by doing this. I run them like this: Dragon L, Dragon H, Lobby L, Lobby H, Nature, Car L and car high. Let me see what I can come up with in the next few days and I will post something.Quote:

BTW C I am thinking the same thing about the gains I am gonna see with the 2.8. I really think with a 2.4C clocked to 3.5 I will pick up some serious points. I have a Costa 2.4C right now. I think I am gonna try the Malays one and see what she can do.
That's all? I say your name in the notification email and got myself ready for some juicy easy-1k-gain tips... I tried the Omega drivers and as far as I could tell they were slower than my 3.1's! (which came on the Radeon cd)Quote:

EEHHH???? The 3.1's dont work on the 9800Pro?????
That is odd... It wont load or reconize my ATI card with 3.1... Only 3.2????
The latest Omega drivers are very good... I got a much better score with them and DX 9.0b for 2003... Let me see if I can find that doc I work on...
I guess I should run them out of order :( I still run them from start to finish without cooling inbetween... I also run it more then once without a reboot.. So I am loosing a lot of points that way :(
