I would add Larry Johnson to that list with as durable as he has been.

I agree it's too much to pay but aj smith seems to rob people blind left and right when it comes to trades and draft deals look what happened with ecry manning.... I think he might be able to pull it off.
yea the Eli thing has to be one of the worst bilkings in recent years. Stupid NY. Rivers appears to be equal to Manning, PLUS they got one of the BEST defensive players in the league in Shawn Merriman. Man that whole deal is rediculous.Quote:

Also I found a good article about Roy Williams (Dallas) since we were just talking about him

Some interesting stuff on ESPN today. Hester gets perfect speed rating in Madden 08.

Hester has been known to have been lobbying members of the Madden NFL 08 development team for the top speed rating. He's certainly deserving of the honor; after all, there's pure speed and then there's football speed, which measures how fast a player can go weighed down with pads and equipment while 11 men on the other team try to bring him down. As he showed many times during his breakout rookie season, Hester's football speed is top-notch, and now Madden NFL 08 will pay him the ultimate respect by giving him a perfect rating in that category.
That's interesting, because the headline for yesterday's "On the Clock" article, which covered the Panthers, was "One area the Panthers need to address is QB, where they need a successor to Jake Delhomme." Guess ESPN got it right on that one. :DQuote:

Returners are VERY dependent on the rest of the team, and can go from really hot to really cold very quickly. One of the positions where I really look for consistency over a few seasons before I make any judgments.Quote:

But he hasn't done anything since, so I guess they knew what they were doing, go figure.Quote:

Someone told me Harrington was working out for the Panthers the other day. Guess thats not going to amount ot anything now. Poor Joey. *tear*
I still hope Joey H. can get his **** together some day. Everyone around here loved him from his U of O days, but his pro career just never amounted to much.
I'm sure Lions fans are still thrilled at the pick they spent on him, though.;)
Yea... Its funny with a premier pick like that. Part of you always wonders if he is in fact really good, but doesn't have the help he needs. Then he goes to Miami and he has the same production. At least we got something for him, whereas the Texans cut Carr outright.Quote:

Talk about some wasted opportunites. You should have gotten at least one franchise player with those 3 picks, instead zero. :(
Yep, kind of reminds me of the Rick Mirer situation. Taken #2 overall, then failed utterly to live of to expectations. I though he was going to save the franchise.
That's where the similarities to Harrington end, though. Seattle got the #6 overall from the Bears in exchange for him four years in, and used the pick to get Walter Jones.:D lol
That is nuts. What turned out to be Rick Meier for Walter Jones. Gotta love it.Quote:

He's dominant, but was injured a lot previously... might reduce the Panthers asking price for him. Get on it Mr. Ruskell! Make him a Seahawk.
yea still 3 more weeks :(Quote:

Still not sure why they build an entire offense around Vick's skills, then sign a backup who is basically completely different...
wow they gave him a two year deal. I realize that doesn't mean they can't cut him, but he's been cut this year, and traded for a conditional 5th round pick last year.
But I suppose from Atlanta's perspective they need to have a veteran backup if your starter is Vick.
I don't know why but I can't help but feel bad for Joey. He's a millionaire and here I am feeling bad for him. Go figure.
Because money isn't everything.Quote:

yea, you figure all the millions he got for being the #3 overall pick and on the Lions roster as such for 4 years, now he can be a career backup and make well into the 6 figures for like 5-7 more years. Nice deal.Quote:

No doubt. I would still be at least a little bitter about wasting away my formative NFL years in that Detroit graveyard, though. :DQuote:
